Check-in date:

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights: 18th - 20th May inclusive, to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. Overall we were both impressed with the Hotel Cervantes and would certainly consider staying here again on our next Paris weekend break.

The hotel is located on Rue De Berne in the 8th Arrondissement, within walking distance to the bohemian and bustling Montmartre but far enough away for it to be a safer, quieter, more residential location which suited us perfectly. In terms of Metro access, the hotel is situated on the blue line, the closest being Rome (2 minute walk) or Place de Clichy (5 minute walk) Either of these metro stops will then enable you to access the sites as you see fit.

The reality is that due to Paris having a wonderful and comprehensive Metro system, you really would have to go out of your way to pick a bad location in terms of metro access. If you want to save some money then invest in the 3 day metro pass for 19.50 EUROS which gives you unlimited access and is much more convienient than buying a ticket each time. Another money saver would be if flying to and from Charles De Gaulle then take the train, not a cab. Simply walk from the arrivals terminal to the RER terminal, (well signposted) buy an RER transfer for 9.50 Euros to central Paris getting off at Gard d'Nord, transfer to the blue line and then get off at the Rome stop, turn left upon exiting the Metro, cross the road and take 1st right and you are at the hotel... simples

The Hotel staff were welcoming, check in/check out was a breeze, room was smallish but modern and spotlessly clean. Large French doors opening out onto a small balcony was a blessing. The only negative was the poor shower pressure and the painfully small cubicle in which it was housed.

Downstairs there is a nice indoor gazebo type extension for relaxing, a small bar area and a WIFI corner also housing an Apple Mac PC (free to use) The hotel also have free maps and information booklets which may help along with a metro map which is a must. I would skip the hotel breakfast, i had a look at it and in all seriousness there are plenty more inviting options nearby or a metro stop away. The crepe stand at PLace de Clichy metro is a good option if you are on a budget and in a hurry... jambon et fromage mmmmm! :)

Overall the Hotel Cervantes was a solid 3 star hotel, reasonably centrally located with good metro links which made for a really enjoyable short break for us both. I would hesitate to pay the full price room rates but if you can get a deal (check out travel republic) then this would be an ideal choice for a short break.

The hotel was good for a short break. Our room was small but not too small but I did struggle a bit in the shower as it was very narrow. There were only 2 English channels on the tv and they were both news channels which was a little annoying but then we only watched tv a little before bed. On the plus side there was hardly any noise from outside despite being very close to train lines. Also, you can use the safe in the room for free.

The hotel staff were very helpful. Everything you need is a short walk away, this includes the Metro, shops and restaurants.

Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet place to sleep after a long day sightseeing, with quick access to public transport and local eateries and shops.

Top Tip: I would definately recommend buying one of the long term passes for the public transport as it will save you more in the end. Also, pre book any of the main attractions you want to go to see, especially the Eiffle Tower. I didn't pre book and ended up queing for nearly 3 hours.

Great little hotel the rooms are small as expected in Paris. We had a standard double which was spotlessly clean. There is noise from the railway but that was not a big issue. Our room was on the 6th floor at the rear with a small balcony and unobstructed views to the Eiffel Tower. The rooms at lower levels only have a view of a very high brick wall which you can reach out and touch. Very near to the Rome Metro and there are a number of top quality bistros in the area. We would use this hotel again. Great deal through Travel Republic.

Top Tip: Get a room high up on the rear for brilliant views, for peace and quiet a room at the front. Neva cuisine a bistro at the end of the street is absolutely amazing.

We arrived at the hotel 13th february on a late flight, on arrival the lady at reception was extremely polite and checked us into the hotel. The hotel was kept very clean and up to date with house keeping every day to change the towels and clean in general. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, which was everything you could want, including freshly baked croissants, cereals and a drinks selection.

There was a small Italian restaurant next door to the hotel which is recommended, and the hotel is in the perfect location for any other restaurants too, we booked two restaurants in advance for while we were there and we ended up cancelling one of them because there was so many options to choose from close to the hotel.
The hotel is also really close to the metro line, ideal for getting around.
All in all we will visit again and definitely recommend it.

Top Tip: Lots of restaurants close by and close to the metro.

Lovely quiet hotel situated in the business district. Great location and only 2 minute walk from Rome metro station with easy access to traveling around Paris. Opera area 15 minute walk, moulin rouge 10 min walk with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Standard room was big enough for 2, although larger premier room would be best if you were staying longer than a few days. Breakfast was good - pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, selection of meats an eggs.

Top Tip: Easy to travel to hotel from airport - take blue RER line to Paris, get off at Gare Du Nord. Connect via tunnel to La Chapelle metro station, take line 2 to Port Dauphine and get off at at Rome - will take approx 40-50 minutes. Ticket will cost €9.10.
Paris is expensive. Travel to Latin quarter for a cheap meal - €15 3 course. Many bars run happy hour between 1600-2100 for half price cocktails and beer - approx €5
If going to Louve, take metro line 1 and get off at palais royal musee de louve. There is no queue for tickets compared to main entrance.
If planning to travel by metro, purchase book of 10 tickets for €12, as single journey costs €1.70.
