“ The hotel was full on our visit and the breakfast room could not cope so there were delays in finding a table. The general area around this hotel had lots of homeless persons about which could cause some persons concern,8.0 Great

“ Had a 2 night stay with my friend and really enjoyed the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable, authentic and quiet. The breakfast was very nice. Would recommend. Please beware of pick pockets, we got caught near the Eiffel Tower, they are so quick you don't stand a chance!!!8.4 Great

“ We were only stopping overnight in Paris and wanted a hotel that was near the Gare de L'est which meant that this fitted the bill - only a few minutes walk away. however we didn't expect that a room could be so small; after carrying heavy cases upstairs there was barely room to put them down! The shower room was much the same with hardly the space to use the facilities. However, friendly staff and a reasonable breakfast.

“ Twin room very small and should have had 2 duvets not one large one. I was sharing with a friend. Quite noisy if room is facing the road. Breakfast was good - plenty variety.

After what can only be described as a tortuous journey from Paris CDG airport to Paris Gare du Nord we wading through a whole mele of drunks, homeless and beggers to reach the sanctuary of the Timhotel Paris Gare de L'Est. Our relief was short lived, we opened the door to our room thinking that we had accidentally opened a cupboard door - realising that this was in fact our room we proceeded to make a coffee (caffeine was much needed) only the cups had holes/ cracks in them "coffee everywhere", these were not replaced (with childrens plastic cups, i might add) until day three of our stay even though reception were advised on day one.
Many other faults were found:-
* Dirty room and bathroom (rusty & mouldy shower screen).
* No drawer storage.
* Stains on lamp shade.
* Bugs on bed.
* Curtains not hung correctly (DIY skills a must).
* Exterior sun screen useless (weight that hold this in place missing).
* The list goes on!!!!
Breakfast on the first morning of our stay was accompanied with a leak from the dinning room ceiling which resembled a waterfall - ceiling tiles not replaced within the week of our stay.
We expected crampt conditions, however unless these other conditions are the norm for Paris "Don't book this hotel", as over priced, dirty and in need of modernisation.
* HOWEVER - if you are ok with yourself or partner (or both) being accosted by drunks, homeless, beggers (which there are many in this area), etc - then this is the place for you!!!
On a positive note - receptionists are very helpfull.
