Pleasant slightly run down hotel mostly used by people crossing the channel. Having said that tidy, clean and comfortable.

Top Tip: Close to shopping centre and restaurants.

Stayed over for one night during a short trip to Calais through the tunnel.

Access to and from the tunnel is very easy from this hotel.

Room was very small and quite dated. I had booked one double room for one person and I still felt very cramped. For what I paid expected better.

There was some confusion with my booking which was slightly annoying. Some of the staff were friendly, others seemed annoyed . The staff I spoke to all seemed reasonably fluent in English.

There are double doors to the hotel, something like a porch and I was quite surprised to see staff smoking in between the doors, albeit with the outer door open as any guest wishing to go in and out of the hotel had to pass them smoking right inside the doorway. When I woke up I needed to get something from my car and as a non smoker having to walk through two people's smoke first thing on an empty stomach really made me quite sick.

Breakfast was a relatively basic continental breakfast, some cereals, breads, jams, yogurt, pastries etc. There was no cooked breakfast on offer as far as I could tell.

The room was clean and the bedding was also freshly cleaned. It was quiet when I went too.

Bed was a bit too hard for me but reasonably comfortable,

The area is quiet there isn't really much around but I am sure there would be various things if you drove a few miles down the road. I was not looking to go out I was merely on a quick stop over and just wanted somewhere to get some sleep and it served that purpose.

If I went over again I would most likely try a different hotel just to compare such as the Holiday Inn.

Good

Check-in date:

The room was very small and for more than a one night stay, unsuitable. TV had no english speaking channels whatsoever, not even BBC World and/or CNN which every other hotel we have stayed in has as a minimum. However the young man on reception was extremely helpful and friendly - even made us coffees in the evening althought he had just finished cleaning the machine etc. Breakfast was very good, plenty to eat and drink, locked car park over night was a bonus.

Top Tip: We stayed on a Sunday night, the hotel restaurant was not open but there were places nearby to eat, so no problem. Nearest place to eat is Buffalo Grills - an american style diner, ok but not stunning, decent portions and good wine, staff very attentive and was very busy we thought for a Sunday. Close to the large shopping centre too for those last minute purchases. Only one stop on the motorway from the Eurotunnel, so ideal for a stopover before a morning train.

Clean little hotel with friendly efficient staff. Good value, I'd happily visit again.

Top Tip: Not really we arrived late evening, just found a local brasserie for a quick meal.
