Madison Hotel

“ This is really a two star hotel with some three star features. By no stretch of the imagination should it be four star - we thought we had found a bargain but you get what you pay for. We had some nights of extreme heat but could not leave the windows open due to the noisy traffic - our fault for not expecting to need air conditioning in Dusseldorf. Room was decent size. Breakfast was surprisingly good but the limited numbers of staff had to work hard to keep tables clear and re-supply food. The hotel has a pool - we did not use it but this would be an asset to some people. Staff, including reception, were helpful.

“ Very pleasant staff and extended our check out time by a couple of hours without charge. A rare occurance in this day and age. For that alone i fully recommend this hotel. It was also clean and tidy which is as much as you can ask.

“ Top Tip: The Alstadt ( old town ) is buzzing nearly every night with good quality resteraunts and bars. Dusseldorf is a really lively place at weekends.
