“ Wonderful hotel, excellent food, staff friendly and efficient. Would have been perfect if we had a kettle in our room.

“ From the moment of arrival the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble; they willingly gave recommendations for food outside the hotel and answered any queries throughout the stay.

The room was clean and generous with a large wardrobe and a good clean bathroom. The double bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning effective. Complimentary water and wine provided on arrival, as are complimentary bath robes and slippers. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion replaced/ topped up daily when the rooms are made up. There is a safe in the room for personal possessions. There is also a useful alphabetical booklet in multiple languages, listing everything that could possibly trouble a traveller from how to work the safe to where and when to collect beach towels. There is free wifi with the password given on arrival, however found the connectivity and reception in the room was intermittent and that it was much better to sit in the lobby on the sofas or at the bar.

Excellent breakfast, a self service buffet with a mix of everything from cereal, Greek yoghurt (with the option of a variety of toppings including greek honey, dried fruit, jam etc). to hot food (eggs 4 ways, bacon, beans, ham) and cold salad, cheese, salamis, bread, toast, and 3 types of juice. Hot coffee is in thermos jugs on every table with a small jug of milk. There is also a range of fruit, croissants, brioche and biscuits.

Dinner at the hotel is also a buffet with a good range of Greek, Italian, and other cuisines including stews, rice, pasta, salads and fish and roast meat dishes. There is a large range of desserts including ice cream and cakes. Drinks, including water cost extra. Reasonable food for reasonable money, 11.50 per person.

There is a bus stop on both sides of the main road a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Tickets are available at the shop at the corner, and both blue busses running from Dasia to Corfu Town and green busses North to and Paleokastritsa stop here, giving good, regular transport links.

Overall an excellent hotel, with excellent staff set in a good, quiet location but within easy reach of local amenities, restaurants, bars and shops. Well worth a visit.

“ Top Tip: Come out of the hotel gates and turn right, follow the road and look for the first turn off to the right. Set on the marina side is the fish taverna 'Roula' within easy walking distance of the hotel. Excellent fresh fish for very reasonable prices, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are happy to offer recommendations or just pick off the menu. Shellfish sold at a set price, the fish is sold by weight, so if in doubt ask the waiting staff for a rough estimation of price. Paid 10 Euros per person for a delicious meal. Well worth a visit.

Slightly further away from the hotel but still within easy walking distance and set in Kontokali itself is the fish taverna ‘Gerekos’. On arrival we were led through to the kitchen by the owner to inspect the fish (a chance for them to show how fresh their catch was) and asked to choose which we would like to eat. When it arrived the food was delicious, fragrant and filling and in between courses the owners came over to chat to us, check the food was ok and generally make the evening thoroughly enjoyable. To get to the restaurant it is necessary to walk alongside the busy main road for a little distance, but there is a narrow pavement.

“ We were a gruop of 3 females staying for 5 days at this hotel and we have nothing but praise for them. The staff were pleasant & charming nothing was too much trouble, the hotel was kept beautifully clean and tidy, with all the facilities one could need.The service was friendly, effecient and delivered with a smile an absolute pleasure to stay there. I dont normally write reviews but this hotel and its lovely staff is well worth a recomendation, we would definitely return and would urge others to try. Good location within easy reach of Corfu town, airport and fab beaches within a half an hours drive.Thank you all for a fab few days, we had a great holiday.
