Messonghi Beach Hotel

“ Felt very isolated as the hotel was full of french people.Breakfasts were very poor seem to be every sort of way to cook an egg. Beans,bacon mushrooms,tomatos were non existant. The food on the whole was poor and probably the worst I have had in the twenty to thirty all inclusive holidays ive had.Beer in plastic glasses thats only half full is a no no.By the time you have got back to your seat and had two mouth fulls. Its time to go to the bar again.The entertainment crewe which there must have been about fiffteen of them spent very little time with me and my family mainly my son as we were in the minority.Darts,french bowls,ping pong dancing and stretching were high on the agenda . But football which my son is mad on was scheduled for everyday but was cancelled every day as it was deemed not to have enough interest.

“ We heard the resort had recently reopened .the sooner it is reclosed the better .had the runs for five days The many eastern Europeans liked the food but we didn't.

“ Its a YES for us! We traveled as a mature couple (28/32) and enjoyed every minute of our holiday. The resort is massive but every one finds a place- there are many bars and pools, all staff was great, helpful, spoke English. All inclusive v. well organised, on our last day we had to check out from our room at 11:30 but could keep our AI bands until night time, could also use a room in the evening to have a shower.
Our room was a basic sea view room without air con- make sure you know what you book, we were aware and managed all week, but were thinking about paying extra 15Euro per night to be moved into air con room, as it was 30 Celsius and very hot in the room. Please bear in mind when you go in hot season!
All rooms cleaned every day, bed sheets changed every day, towels- if you leave them on the floor- every day! They don't expect you to leave tips (and I mean tips for all the staff- even if you go All inclusive) but we thought it's nice to appreciate the hard work and all their smiles!
Near the hotel many small places you can go for cheap and tasty food (Gyros!!!) and buy some small suvenirs, food, drinks etc. You will be better off taking a trip to Corfu Town though to buy your gifts and suvenirs as it's cheaper and defo more attractive (at night especially!) and a bus will take you there at 2.20 Euro one way- stops at hotel and in town.
We hired a scooter (you can hire quad bikes, cars too) and it cost us 15 Euro per day- we got a deal for 3 full days and could have it the night before at 40 Euros. We went to 3 beautiful beaches- all of them are within 20-30 minute drive away, Cofu Town was a 25 minute drive and much more fun than taking the bus! We also hired a speedboat for 1,5hours at 50 Euro but this was one of our dreams to do it!
The food... OMG! The food was delicious! I cant praise the chef cook enough! I love Greek food but this was just a 5* taste! Every day something new and surprising, a huge variety for everyone, delicious and all topped up very quick. Tables cleaned very prompt and all staff well organised.
I must stress we went to relax and we are both not very nippy- please bear in mind it is a 3*hotel so please do not expect the rooms to be fabulous, modern and freshly re-decorated.
We paid £310 each for a week and it was well worth the money!!!
We will defo go back, with family and friends.
As it happens in every country, people in Corfu will be glad to hear you trying to speak their language. Even if all you can say is "kalimera" or "Yassou", people will smile and open up! Enjoy your holiday! Alex&Seb
