The Adonis Studios is a small complex of self catering apartments in a pretty village with a family feel and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Although officially a 2 star rating, we feel that due to the rooms and facilities Adonis Studios deserves our 3 sun rating. The 17 self catering studios vary in size and sleep from 2 to 4 adults. All have kitchenette with fridge and 2 cooking rings, kettle, bathroom with shower and WC, direct dial telephone, air conditioning, safety deposit box, balcony /terrace with sea or garden view. Some facilities and services are subject to a local charge.

The complex has a large swimming pool, children's swimming pool, bar serving drinks and snacks, sun beds and umbrellas, luggage room and a pool table.
Location
The studios have an elevated position on the lower slopes of a picturesque mountain range, on the outskirts of the pretty village of Koutouloufari. Adonis Studios are 1 kilometre from the centre of Hersonissos and 1 kilometre from the beach. The busy resorts of Hersonnissos and Stallis are 3 kilometres away and both have sandy beaches which offer watersports and night life. Due to the number of steps in the complex it may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties.

The apartment was basic but a good size and probably seen better days. There was always plenty of hot water and the apartment was always kept clean. The pool was good but not shallow enough for young children.
Entertainment was a pool table and a TV at the back of the bar and of cause Ben the bar man (who also ran the place along with his wife)
The bars and restaurants are only a short walk away and are mainly old style Greek restaurants. We did not have a bad meal in any of them we tried.
We booked the holiday as a last minute cheap holiday and got.

Great barman with good local advice and a sense of hummer.

Myself and my 13yr old son had a fabulous holiday at the Adonis Studios at the end of August 2009. The studio was clean but very basic....but for the amount of time actually spent in the room it was adequate.
Everyone was really friendly....met some great people and had lots of laughs....people staying in the apartments next door (Petra) used to hang out at the pool and bar (apparently much friendlier at Adonis!). Ben the barman was amazing....he was always there to pour a drink, mix a cocktail, give advice and have a laugh (usually when we were trying to solve the rope trick!!)..great guy!!
An abundance of restaurants in Koutouloufari (beautiful village)...most of them typically greek....never had a bad meal (but was told to avoid Classico)....a few of the restaurants were...Gallini's (a little pricey compared to others), Emmanuels (fab lamb dishes & amazing meatballs!), Ariane (greek plate for 2 for €18..bargain!)...great cocktails at Casa Nostra...and Fabrica a good place for a drink (run by a greek guy that looks like Danny de Vito..hilarious!). Keep walking through this village and you'll come to Piscopiano (about 5 mins)..another lovely little village with a great little taverna under the church....run by a blonde greek girl called Lucy (think it's called Gevsis). The next village along is Hersonossis Village (about 10 mins)....they have a greek nite on a Monday nite....need to go early to get a table with a view at one of the many restaurants...dancing and plate smashing in the street...well worth going to that.
After having a fab meal in one of the many restaurants we'd saunter back to the apartments and sit at the bar with Ben until the wee small hours chatting and laughing with the many friends we made.
If you want a quiet, relaxing holiday this is the place for you. No loud music, clubs or rowdy drunken louts!! And, if like me, you're a single parent and are a bit apprehensive about taking your kids away yourself, then this is the perfect place...as it's such a small complex everyone talks to everyone else and you soon make friends. I guess it depends on how old your children are and how much entertainment they need to keep them happy. My 13yr old was happy with swimming and the pool table...oh..and the sport on the TV!
We'll remember this holiday for years to come thanks to Ben and all the fab people we met! x
