Cretan Village Hotel and Apartments

“ The hotel was nice, furniture and atmosphere, and the room was spacious. But it was built on a top and the studios were placed up so high so it was dificult to go to the restaurang. We didn´t used the all-inclusive programme a lot therefore.

“ Top Tip: In the surrondings it is not very much to see. I recommend to rent a car for explore the very east part of Crete and even the south near Iearapetra.

“ The all inclusive drinks were of a poor standard except for the lager. The food was very samey. There was also some road noise. I would not stay there again

“ this was not a four star hotel more like a two star, the food was not good,only two choices for dinner, breakfast was the same every morning boiled eggs,bread and jam that was it,the rooms were not cleaned for the whole week we were there, they did not clean even the toilets or empty a bin would not go back there again.

“ Top Tip: nice beach

“ We are a couple in our mid 40s and found the hotel good value for money. We would not recomend it to families with very young children although there was a young family there that loved it. neither would we advise older people (65+) with any kind of walking difficulties to stay here. This is mainly due to the amount of steps upto the rooms also the depth of the swimming pool ( Iam 5 foot 10 and couldnt stand up in it ). We would recomend it to people like ourselves, 30 to 60 year olds who are fairly fit.
The hotel is in a beautiful spot and the views from the rooms are stunning. We were all inclusive, you only had a choice of salad or two hot dishes for lunch & dinner but the food was nice, breakfast however was not worth getting up for. The rooms are large and individual but basic and a bit tired (the whole hotel is tired looking and could do with referbing) also the cleaners leave alot to be desired. The front of house staff (Dragan,Katarina & Katherine) are great and very helpful, The owner/family however could do with some PR lessons.
Location. The hotel is fairly isolated there is one taverna on the nearest good beach which is 15 min walk away also there is a big hotel next door but thats it. Unless you go into Ag-nic which is 9 Euros in a taxi or 1.80 euros on the bus (if youre not in a rush) or you can walk it in 45 mins. Ag-nic is a lovely & cosmopolitan town but expensive.
To sum up the hotel. It is not a 4 star hotel if you go expecting 4 star you will be disapointed if you go with an open mind and expect a 2 star hotel you will not be disapointed and will have a lovely relaxing holiday. Also the all inclusive is minimal and stops at 11 oclock but overall well worth what we paid. I would say our stay at Cretan village was good value for money and we enjoyed it.

“ Top Tip: Take plenty of money Greece has become very expensive for example. A pint & a Gin & tonic 8.50 Euros, Full english breakfast 5 to 10 euros, Small cup of coffee 2.80 euros. So dont leave yourself short also the nearest ATM is in Ag-nic.
