“ Just got back from the Crete where we stayed at the Blue Marine Resort and Spa and must admit, we were extremely disappointed. The food was terrible, service was poor, certain things were not 'all inclusive'. We've stayed in 5* all inclusives once or twice before and were expecting something similar. How wrong could we be. Avoid this hotel.
“ Top Tip: Avoid going in October - Weather is really hit and miss. Agios Nikolaos is nice for an evening meal/drink. We ate in the Gold restaurant, which was lovely, although expensive - 120 euros for 2 people (2 courses with one bottle of wine). It was delicious though. Crete (and Greece in general no doubt) is more expensive than England now so we would probably not go back unless it was for a more cultural experience or an exclusive hotel resort.

“ The hotel was nice but more of a four star not five. if the children didnt like pasta they would have gone hungry. The childrens pool area was not very clean and the sun beds were old and tired. other than that the hotel was very nice and the staff in the hotel were also very nice .
“ Top Tip: Do not take the bus transfer take a taxi, it is worth every penny. the bus took 2 and a half hours and the driver was awfull and abrupt to the children. the taxi takes just under an hour and we did this on our return worth it. 70 euros

Hotel was very good. Room and all of the building clean.
Would like to see improvement in the food experience as very rushed. Normally in and out within 20 mins.
Kids club not the same as UK so dont expect it. My children loved it however and could come and go as they please. Do not expect to leave your responsibilities at the door. They are your children anyway. (I dont anyway but a number of people did).

This comfortable, fully renovated hotel has 311 rooms, distributed around 2 main buildings, as well as terraced bungalows. There is also a lobby with reception, a lounge, lifts, a lobby bar, a TV room, a boutique, a jewellery shop, a small shop, an air-conditioned restaurant, an e la carte restaurant, a beach bar, a tropical beach bar, an oriental lounge bar, a theatre stage bar, a conference centre, business centre facilities and a fully equipped medical centre. There is also a playground and a kids' club for younger guests.
“ This is an excellent hotel, we had originally booked 1 week but enjoyed it so much we booked an extra week (cheapest deal through travel republic!) It is a beautifully designed complex, we stayed in the village side across the road rather than the hotel and we found it to be very quiet.

“ all in all a great place, AI was quite good but got a little boring, plenty of fresh salads, fish and meat dishes. October meant the hotel was quite quiet which was good for us. Everything very clean, pools are good, and no problem being served at the bar, very few Brits.
