Built in 2006, the Rafaella and Nicoletta Villas have a real attention to detail and the high standards of décor will certainly impress. The elevated position in the rural hills of Aghios Nikolaos give the villas a real ‘away from it all’ feeling. The steep driveway approaching them may test your stamina, but the magnificent vista when you arrive at the top is worth it – rolling verdant hills as far as the eye can see. Picturesque and peaceful, we think that staying at the Rafaella or Nicoletta will recharge your batteries and help you unwind into holiday mode quickly.

Both villas will comfortably sleep four in their bright and airy interiors. The main bedroom is en suite with a double bed, and the second bedroom has two twin beds. The kitchen is well-equipped and open-plan, as is the main living area. Outside, the swimming pools are located to one side of the villa and surrounded by a tiled terrace and raised gardens. You will find a barbecue and plenty of sunbeds and parasols.

There are a number of interesting places to visit: the village of Kritsa, renowned for its handiwork, is a car ride away, or, if you've chosen not to hire a car, there are excursions available. There's also a weekly market and a large array of both local and tourist shops in Aghios Nikolaos, which is just a bus ride away.

From the coast at Istron, a small side road climbs up high into the mountains through the village of Kalo Chorio, past pine forests and olive groves, to the small hamlet of Prina. Situated on the edge of the village, Maria-Emmanuella and Sophie villas are truly lovely, and set in a ravishing rural location. The villas ooze charm from every pore of their thick, natural stone walls, with inspired details offering plenty to entertain the eye. The main focus of Maria-Emmanuella in the large living area is the gorgeous stone fireplace and an old pair of cast-iron gates divides the lounge from the open-plan kitchen and dining area. Arranged over one floor, Maria-Emmanuella has two spacious twin bedrooms with direct access to the extensive, stone-flagged terrace, while Villa Sophie has one double and one twin bedroom situated on the first floor.
