This 3-star family run hotel, built in accordance with the local architecture, is conveniently located on the Malia Beach Road.
The elegant interior, furnished in the simple, traditional style of the island, gives it an air of Cretan authenticity, yet at the same time offers all comforts of a modern hotel.
Its 35 spacious and comfortable rooms have an air of Cretan authenticity with stone built arcades and marble floors. The double and triple rooms have a private bathroom and balcony, mini-fridge, safety deposit box and air conditioning.
Guests staying at the Malia Mare are provided with a lounge area with satellite TV, internet corner and a well attended garden. Every week the hotel hosts a special BBQ night.
The pool area with pool bar provides a whirlpool bath and swim-up bar, while the spacious sun terrace with sun beds offers sufficient shade on hot summer days.

Hotel was lovely, would love to go back! Staff were all nice and helped us out with anything we needed including what to do during the days and where best to go. Rooms were lovely and views from our balcony were nice (The Pool).
Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I really like the hotel facilities pool, pool bar, rooms etc. Very poor organisation from the hotels behalf. Booked for three and had to sleep in a room which only slept 2 for a night until they could accommodate us elswere. They also tried to check us out on the 22nd when our hotel documents clearly stated the check out date was the 23rd.........
Location perfect for young people as it was at the top of the strip, not suitable for families or older people. General overview of the hotel "good" reasonably priced.
“ Top Tip: Beach 300m from strip, great bars and clubs dotted all around the area. Reasonable restaurants which served decent snacks and meals!

If your old, a couple, a family, or a single not planning to go out every night and get drunk until 8 in the morning then for god's sake don't book this hotel.
It was absolute bedlam for the whole week with little attempt to control the madness.
Fantastic if your 18 year old Essex boy but not so good if you're an adult that likes sleeping now and again.
The rooms were very basic but did the job. The pool and surrounding area were excellent. Staff were fine, typical Greek family run apartments really.
Do the maids really have to clean the room every single day a 10 in the morning ?? So annoying, especially when they waltz into the room and your in the buff !
Planning a lads/girls holiday ? This hotel is your friend.....

“ I enjoyed my stay at Malia Mare, but was disappointed by the air conditioning which leaked and by the condition of the bathroom. The room was quite cramped for 3 people, but was comfortable and generally clean. Also, the location was excellent and the pool was lovely and well-maintained.
“ Top Tip: We appreciated being located quite centrally and found that the food at all the restaurants we went to was excellent and the waiters and waitresses were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would particularly recommend the food at a small Greek take away across the road. Also, for super cheesy music, friendly staff and free shots head to Popworld a few doors away down the Strip.

Hotel owners were excellent, couldn't have done more for us. Always helpful, often went out of their way to help, for example when ordering food, they would make up what you wanted.
Hotel is small, clean, has a tv, computer, bar, excellent pool and jacuzzi, pool table and area for snacks by the pool. Plenty of loungers and breakfast is what you'd expect, cereal and toast, hams, cheese and juice.
Security guy was fine, no issues, I think if you're pleasant to him, he's pleasant to you. We had heard otherwise but he does a great job as at night/morning it is loud and there are some idiots about, who he always dealt with.
The hotel is at the top of the strip so is noisey at night, but we were in the side on the street but we didnt mind this as we had a balcony and were out most of the time.
Excellent place to eat next door, MR Dish, cheap and owners are great. Full breaky £2.
Overall would go again!
