Sandwiched between the hills and the beach, the Socrates sits in the perfect holiday spot. The resort’s golden sands are just a few minutes’ stroll away. And Stalis itself is an easy ten-minute walk. What’s more, you’re just outside Malia so you’ve got great bars and clubs at your fingertips, too. Add a supermarket pretty much on the doorstep, and you couldn’t pick a better place.

The apartments themselves are modern and fresh – a welcome sight at the end of the day. Well-equipped with a dining and kitchen area, they all come with a balcony and air-conditioning. What’s more, with just 31 apartments and studios, it never feels crowded here.

And it’s the same story throughout the rest of this contemporary complex. Set in spacious green grounds, there’s plenty of room to find a quiet spot on the manicured lawns. At the heart of it all is the roomy pool, surrounded by a smart terrace, dotted with sunloungers and parasols. And when you really want to unwind, hop in the whirlpool bath. There’s also an al fresco pool bar which serves breakfast, snacks and meals.

On the flip side, there’s a good selection of activities here. Not many complexes can boast their own mini golf course. And there’s also table tennis and pool. If you’ve got little ones with you there’s a separate children’s pool and a playground. For a great escape with everything on your doorstep, the Socrates is hard to beat.
