“ On the first night we were given a room which was not good,( apparently the hotel was fully booked when we arrived ) words would not describe what was wrong with it. The following morning we were moved to a room at the front of the hotel which although basic had a nice bathroom, fridge and television there were no british channels, only French, German, Greek. Balconys are great plenty of room to move about and sunbath. The rooms were serviced every day except Sundays. The beds were usual greek type but good mattress's which meant a good sleep, we didn't need the air/con. Breakfast was ok nothing to shout about, the staff were very nice. The bar was always shut, the pool is quite deep and sunbed area is very small. Just a word of warning if you are not good with stairs this place has loads ( bring a oxygen with you) Overall I would use again. Enjoy
“ Top Tip: Great pub THE BLUE BAR, Heinz the owner was very entertaining, and the music was fantastic, even has a dart board, A GOOD NIGHT. AGHI GALINI CAMPING for great food and service, it has a lovely pool which you can use even if you are not residents. The PANTHEION resteraunt has lovely veiws over the harbour and the food was delicious, staff excellent.

“ Nice hotel on hillside very near to village centre, harbour and beach. Nice friendly family run hotel, swimming pool above. Some noise from marble side stairs, but rooms were nice, although no kettle provided to make tea. Good value. Stairs make it unsuitable for very old. Nice balcony.
“
Top Tip:
Central position for bus and harbour. Good tavernas abound.
Easy access to hill above town for walks to next beach an hour away.
Also a good walk to next town Pirgos Kokkinos eastwards along beach.

“ we stayed at the Sunlight in Agia Galini for one night during our travels and foudn it a good base. It is a 2 star hotel over 5 levels, the stairs are steep so not suitale for elderly or those with a disability. The hotel was very clean and has a small swimming pool which was a surprise as not detailed on the website! The family who run this were very friendly and helpful.

“
The Sunlight Hotel is a clean and well run establishment, with very friendly staff. The rooms are basic but light and airy with TV, Shower, Wash Basin and toilet and a veranda that you could hold a party for twenty on!
It is not suitable for disabled or unfit persons as there are some steep steps to get into it and no lifts, so, if you are on the top floor (stunning view), you have to negotiate 151 steps!! However, all Hotels in Agia Galini are similar, due to the fact that they are all built on the sides of tall sloping hills.
Breakfast is very light with tea/coffee, orange juice and fresh bread with a selection of jams and either egg, ham, cheese or tomato. Not substantial, but enough to kick start the day.
“
Top Tip:
Next to the Hotel is the Horiatis Taverna, family run with extensive menu aand very reasonable prices. As with all the tavernas in Galini, the food is fresh and cooked to order..not a microwave in sight! For a different drink, try Frappe which is an iced coffee served in a tall glass. Local Cretan or Greek Beer is cheap but, if you drink spirits, expect to pay more than English prices.
The beach is about 20 minutes walk away and is lined with tavernas, so a day sunbathing can be broken by drinks and lunches at very good prices. The Potamida Taverna is very friendly and the Manager will run a tab during the day (including 2 sunbeds, chair, table and umbrella for 6 Euros), which you pay at the end of the day.
The beach is sandy with a gravelly shore and larger rocks when you get a little further in. I would recommend the use of swim shoes for those, like me, with delicate feet.
With Galini, you are pretty much guaranteed perfect weather, although the nights and, sometimes the days can be breezy..you get sunburned easily because the breeze can cool you, so watch out!
All in all Agia Galini is perfect for a totally relaxed holiday with good walks and water sports for those of a more adventurous nature. It is not noisy and is perfect for all ages. Try it, you'll love it and you will return again and again.
