“ The hotel needs a bit of general maintainence however the most important aspects of the hotel - swimming pool, reception, snack bar are well maintained. The rooms were a little dated. Staff on the whole were extremely friendly although i would not recommend the Wednesday BBQ as the Chef appeared to give all the food to the tables that he had friends on.
“ Top Tip: Short walk down the hill to Avra restaurant - i would highly recommend this Taverna.

nice hotel, very friendly people, very nice pool & gardens.
the location is not great, on the main road to elounda ( a touch noisy) & next to the telephone company cable drum yard (that was the view i had from my window).
also the 1500metre distance to the centre of aghios nikolaos that is quoted, is a little on the low side.
pool bar is expensive for beers (one ot the very little beers was 2.5 euros) it doesn't open untill you have left the hotel if you are going out for the night, & it has closed again by the time you get back.
overall though a good hotel, clean, fairly new & once in the nice gardens you could not see the surrounding yard etc, & most staff came accross as very kind people.

Top Tip:
if you don't fancy forking out ten euros for a return taxi to town & you have a hire car.
if you turn left out of the hotel & left again at the lights, after about one hundred metres there is a supermarket & a teverna next to each other.
take the road that goes up the right side of the taverna & it goes right down to a junction at the sea front, at the junction there is plenty of parking space & you are left with a much shorter & completely level, pleasant walk along the sea front into town (parking in town is horrendous).

“ The hotel staff were extremely helpful and willing to go the extra mile. Pool was large and poolside bar very convenient. Food was adequate, although we never intended to eat there very often, despite going on a half-board basis.
“ Top Tip: Best beach in the area is about 10 miles to the east, in a village called Kalo Chorio. Restaurant recommendations include the Hotel Du Lac, by the lake in the centre of Aghios Nikolaos, as well as dining by a seafront taverna in Elounda (a few miles away to the west.)

This comfortable, fully renovated hotel has 311 rooms, distributed around 2 main buildings, as well as terraced bungalows. There is also a lobby with reception, a lounge, lifts, a lobby bar, a TV room, a boutique, a jewellery shop, a small shop, an air-conditioned restaurant, an e la carte restaurant, a beach bar, a tropical beach bar, an oriental lounge bar, a theatre stage bar, a conference centre, business centre facilities and a fully equipped medical centre. There is also a playground and a kids' club for younger guests.
“ This is an excellent hotel, we had originally booked 1 week but enjoyed it so much we booked an extra week (cheapest deal through travel republic!) It is a beautifully designed complex, we stayed in the village side across the road rather than the hotel and we found it to be very quiet.

Miramare Resort Hotel is an attractive hotel, bungalow and Luxury Villas complex in Eastern Crete. It is situated in a magnificent and peaceful location just above the sea front, with a startling view of the picturesque town of Aghios Nikolaos and the Mirabello Bay between two fully organized beaches offering full facilities and a large variety of sea sports. The hotel is built in traditional island architecture supporting the conservation of Cretan nature, with low buildings, all of which are generously spacious for your relaxation and enjoyment. It consists of 234 rooms.
“ all in all a great place, AI was quite good but got a little boring, plenty of fresh salads, fish and meat dishes. October meant the hotel was quite quiet which was good for us. Everything very clean, pools are good, and no problem being served at the bar, very few Brits.
