Can be difficult to find, especially if you've relied on Google Maps. Actually called Uncle George's Tavern and Restaurant, with the apartments above that.
Despite that, it was a very cheap deal for us, and we got much more than we expected for the price. Very nice, adequate motel room, with the restaurant below and the beach not even 5 minutes walk away.

Excellent value for price paid.
I had a large twin to use as a double with a good balcony. The self catering area was fine - and I didn't need to use it much as the food served in the restaurant wa cheap and very good.
The two hosts Artimis and Kostas were vey helpfull and friendly and went out of their way to make my stay happy.
I would definitely return for another holiday

Short walk to good beach with choices of beach bars. Very near bus stop
Hiraklion is a very interesting and atractive town with excellent museums

“ Nice place - we had a lovely room - ended up eating there most days - good food and good price - only downside to place - was given price of 20 euros to keeping room for a few extra hours on last day of holiday and didn't pay that much per night for staying there - obviously didn't take up the offer!!

“ owners could not have been any nicer very freindly pepolebut room and toilet only cleaned once in the week we were their the shower head holder was broken and when my wife reported it she was told they knew about it and she would just have to hold the shower with her hand the meals were good but only one choice if you wanted a choice then you had to pay for it but the prices were resonable only thng was their was no entertainment
“ Top Tip: the beach was fine and the weather was fab with a nice breeze every day their was a train which stopped outside the hotel wich takes you up into the hills stopping at a monestery for 20 miniutes then carried on further up the hills to a small village for a further half hour stop in which the people their were very freindly the trip took about 2 hours which we thought was value for money

“ This is your typical Greek apartment, hot water (when the sun shines), basic amenities (2 ring cooker and a fridge and that's it in the "kitchen"), very smelly bathroom, but large rooms and even lots of hangers in the wardrobe! Only cleaned once in the week we were there but it was the end of the season and I think they'd let the cleaner go. Lovely people and nice taverna downstairs (speak very good English and really helpful and kind), the rooftop pool was closed for the season (as were most other pools in the area), wouldn't really recommend the resort out of season, very quiet with lots of places already closed down, but fantastic weather and lovely holiday, very handy for buses to most places.

“ I used it for a short stay after a late arrival at Heraklion Airport. The staff were very welcoming even late at night. As on a previous occasion the rooms were spotlessly clean and just as described. It was a good value stop over hotel . i did not use it but is on the direct bus route to the airport.

This hotel is set within gardens that surround the swimming pool. There are 150 rooms at this air-conditioned hotel, which was renovated in 2008. Guests are welcomed into the lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, hotel safe, currency exchange facilities and lift access. Guests can entertain themselves in the games room, TV lounge and children's playground, whilst the cafe, bar and restaurant cater to dining and refreshment needs. A car park is available for those arriving by car.
“ The Hotel was clean and generally in good order,rooms were cleaned and towels changed everyday.Local drinks and food were fine for all inclusive guests.On the downside there wasn't a lot going on no entertainment at all, there wasn't even a karaoke bar anywhere near ! OK for people who just like sunbathing or laying around the pool.

Renovated in 2005, this apartment complex includes 3 floors and 16 lodgings including 9 apartments and 7 studios. As well as a lobby area with a 24-hour reception, the hotel comprises a games room, a TV and lounge room. On payment of an additional fee, medical services are also available. Younger guests may let off steam in the playground. Car parking facilities are additionally available.
“ Plus Points: Very Clean and modernised complex Hosts Manos and Vasillis very helpful and hospitable. Nice view of the garden and the mountains from the back. Really nice and well equipped pool area.

The hotel is located on a quiet side street that leads from the high street of Ammoudara to the sandy beach. Heraklion is 5 minutes away by car or bus, as Ammoudara blends seamlessly with the city. The neat, whitewashed rooms are nicely furnished in a contemporary style and equipped with air conditioning, fridge, and balconies with nice side views of the sea down the street, or the street itself. The hotel is a 3 storey cream and white building, with arched windows and a nice garden in the back where the swimming pool area is. This hotel is a family run property that will appeal to those who are looking for tranquility and genuine Cretan hospitality. It's very close to Heraklion and even closer to the beach, making it ideal for those who want to combine a visit to the sights and markets of this great city with the laid back lifestyle of suburbia (06/08 EP) © Donvand Limited 2012
