The hotel, Ormos Atalia, is situated on the hilltop overlooking Bali which is made up of 4 separate bays. The hotel is situated between bays 3 and 4, with bay 4 being the nearest and in our opinion the most picturesque.
We enjoyed a HB booking and ate out each lunctime for between 20 and 30 euros, which was really good value. You can also enjoy lunch, drinks at the hotel and overall the food at the Ormos was good.
If its a full English you're after forget it. The breakfast is very continental but nice with scrambled eggs being the closest to our classic brekkie. There were very fwe English speaking couples / families there which was a bit of a shame for our youngest who struggled to make friends because of the language barrier.
The hotel charges extra for air con, safe and tv. Tv we did without but the other two cost about 70 euros in total. Slightly disappointed in that we couldnt leve the air con when we were out of the room so it was a case of having to have it turned on in the night. Often this would wake one of us up.
Hotel well kept, rooms nice but very limited cooking area so forget that. Lovely views onto the sea and Bali. Overall, very good experience.
As for Bali itself, the road train was out of action which was a shame. If this was working, im sure we would have enjoyed our stay even more as we'd be able to explore Bali more in the evenings. As it was, the thought of walking up the steep hills after evening walks put us off from straying too far from the hotel. No taxis there either so its quite remote in that respect.
Plenty of nice tavernas serving good food. Plenty of free bread, raki and water melon for dessert. Cant fault the hospitality, do try the Panorama.
Cheap car hire can be obtained and the drive to Rethmnon takes about 40 mins. The route is easily acheived even though it was my first time driving on the other side.
“ Top Tip: Panorama was good, plenty of others as well though. Last beach was the nicest, calmest and the best for snorkelling.

Arrived very late in the evening and the rooms as booked were not available so we slept where we were put and the next day were given alternative accommodation.
The staff were lovely but the food was awful really as most things contained peppers, which I cannot eat.
The beds and pillows were very hard.
The transport to take us back to the airport did not arrive and a taxi was arranged and it was a dash at the end but we caught our flight.
“ Top Tip: Not really

Basic but nice. Pool with view over bay. Food can be a bit repetitive but lots of fresh fish and meat.
Towels/sheets changed regularly and rooms tidied. Staff friendly although v tired at end of season!
Booking had been overlooked but they not only found us a room there and then, but upgraded us to a room with a balcony view over the bay the next day.
“
Top Tip:
There is a little train that chugs between all the different bays/beaches and stops right outside the hotel, but seriously, it is just as fast to walk, everything is no more than 10mins away on foot.
The restaurants are all worth trying - eat a different dish every day!

Very clean and friendly hotel with excellent service. Meals are pretty good considering the price paid. Great views but a car is a good investment for the not so young. Would definitley stay again.
Yet again wonderful value for money from Travel Republic.
“ Top Tip: Bali is a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday.

“ Hotel room albeit old was very compact but clean. The Hotel itself had a bar and the resturant was clean. The food was above average but everyones tastes are different. The pool was warm and clean and the terrace has a great view to the sea.
“ Top Tip: Defiently pay extra for that sea view. dont go to the resort if you have disability problems as it is very hilly. Go and see George at bar Posto hes a crack and its the best bar in the Harbour!!
