“ Fantastic location - right at the prettiest end of the resort of Georgioupolis so no passing traffic. Beautifully quiet yet only a 5 min walk along the beach and into town where there is a good choice of tavernas for eating out. Demetria was very accomodating letting us choose which studio from 4 she showed us so we had an excellent balcony view over the sea and the mountains (we went mid Sept so it was quieter). The rooms were clean and the pool was well maintained - looking right over the beach. Food from the taverna looking onto the beach was good. We were very pleased with our accomodation, particularly its location - couldn't fault it.

“ Top Tip: Loved eating at Valention's an dat Georgia's Kitchen in Georgioupolis.
Would recommend hiring a car to get to Elafonisi (beautiful beach) but get up early to avoid the crowds and see it in all its natural beauty. Also recommend walking the Imbros Gorge (8km long) - a cheaper and shorter alternative to the now very touristy Samaria Gorge (16km long)!

“ Cannot comment on the hotel we booked and paid for as when we arrived at 2.45 am were turned away at by a very rude greek lady ( persume was the owner)-she told us they had no room for us.w fortunately we were offfered a lift by another guest in the hotel( as we were in the middle of nowhere and our transfer bus had left )- they then tried to try to find us somewhere to stay.
The following morning i rang the kalivaki studios and was told that they were double booked- was not happy never went to see the studios so cannot comment - was very disappointed.

“ This was our second time at Kalivaki Studios. We think of it as a little piece of heaven. The studios are basic but very clean and the situation is simply idyllic. Please don't tell too many people about it - we want it to stay upspoilt!!!
We will be back same week next year. Kalivaki is unique with an unrivalled situation right on the beach with a taverna and the most amzing model buildings - Knossos was new this year - all built by the lovely elderly gentleman (Dimitri) who owns Kalivaki. There is a beautiful swimming pool which is immaculately maintained and sunbeds there are free to those staying in the studios. Sunbeds on the beach cost 5 euros per day for 2 but we think this is well worth paying for the sheer pleasure of being just a few steps from the sea or the taverna. We saw several other guests who we recognised from last year and I know that many people re book from year to year. Must also praise A2B transfers who were great - on time and efficient!!

“ Top Tip: There are numerous restaurants in nearby Georgioupolis which can be reached by a walk along the beach or around the lanes past the goats, pigs, chickens and this year Christos the Pelican. Best in our view is Nostos although it is a little more expensive than some. Also good is Valentinos - a little more touristy but always busy with good food. Would definitely recommend sticking to the local 'jug' wine - much cheaper than the bottled greek stuff which can be expensive and is not that brilliant.leave the local raki alone though unless you have a very strong head!!
