The Pinelopi Apartments sit in the alpine landscape of Kournas Lake, the only one freshwater lake of Crete. It us surounded by traditional villages, and the long, sandy Georgioupoli beach is less than a mile away. Rethymnon is 15 miles, Chania 22 miles and Georgioupoli 1 mile away. Georgioupoli has everything required for a perfect holiday in Crete including pharmacies, open markets, super markets, restaurants and a good local bus service.

“ It is a very relaxed place.. the nearest 'taverna' is about 1km away and night life, though on a small scale, is about 2km away, where the beaches can be found. More a family and older person's hotel.. very clean rooms, though basic.. beautiful setting.. not really for 'clubbers' but we would go back
“ Top Tip: There's a bar at the top of lake Kourna (the one which looks like a beach hut!) which you must get to as the sun sets.. it has great music and a perfect view of the lake and sea..

“ Perfect location in middle of olive groves - a short taxi ride (or feasible to walk if you really want to) to the beach or the lake - so ideal for those who like peace and quiet. Very friendly owner - spotlessly clean place - lovely pool - really can't fault Apartments Pinelopi!
“ Top Tip: Only 5 Euros for a taxi into Gergiopouli in the evening, where there are plenty of good tavernas - a pleasant, quiet little town but with all the essentials available.

The property was excellent. It was clean, the views from our balcony were marvellous. The propieter could not have been more helpful.
I would recomend this property to anyone who likes the real Crete away from the crowded beaches yet still only 5 mins drive from a major resort centre
“ Top Tip: A great local taverna is the Mythos in Georgiopolis. Best steak I have tasted in all of Greece!
