  • Just spent a fabulous week in this hotel. it is rightly a 4star, the food was very good, although not lots of choice, what was there was very nicely cooked, but always best to eat outside, as inside was a bit on the cafe type side! Staff were very friendly and very helpful.

  • Stayed two weeks in superior double room with sea view - half board. Room was clean and comfortable, with wonderful views overlooking the sea and Spinalonga Island. Sheets and towels changed regularly.

Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Be prepared for a huge climb to the hotel, then on to the rooms! but the views are worth the climb. One fault, not enough plug sockets in the room, but easily got around. We used the beach in elounda, as the hotel beach is very small, this took us about 25mins to walk to, but again, a fabulous walk and certainly worth the effort.

Stayed two weeks in superior double room with sea view - half board. Room was clean and comfortable, with wonderful views overlooking the sea and Spinalonga Island. Sheets and towels changed regularly. Room cleaned everyday. Room shared a small pool with neighbouring room. Pool cleaned everyday. Meals at hotel were great. Huge variety of food, self service, buffet style. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Some nights the hotel put on some entertainment. Particularly enjoyed the 'Cretan Night' with Cretan music and dancing.

Top Tip: Angela's in Elounda for coffee and cake.

Check-in date:

The hotel is on a really steep slope, pre-warned by previous comments. It is certainly worthwhile to pay a bit extra to have a sea view room. The view from our balcony overlook the sea and Spinalonga is stunning. A travel kettle is a must with your own supply of coffee/tea, that will save you €2.50 for a cup in the bar and you can enjoy it with a view. The lighting in the room is very dim, almost too low to read or use the mirror above the dressing table. The food choices for breakfast and dinner are very good, certainly not just catered for the traditional British taste. The staffs are helpful and friendly.

Top Tip: We walked from the hotel to the island opposite via the causeway, follow sign to Agio Fokas, car park on top then follow path down to a sandy beach with stunning view for a swim. There is also bbq area. There is another church further on, well defined path, beautiful view all the way, comfy/walking shoes recommended.

Welcoming friendly and efficient we had a very enjoyable 4 days The hotel is clean well run has enough of the right facilities and has an extremely well run restaurant with excellent food, we would not hesitate to go again. Some rooms are a steep walk from the public area but we are sure the hotel would do all it could to minimize any problems. Location is exceptional.

Top Tip: A visit to Spinalonga is a must
The ruin Minonian cities of Gournia and Lato are intriguing and impressive
A good sandy beach south of Agios Nikolaos at Almiros river is worth a visit.
