Elounda Residence

“ The Elounda was very good value for money, our all inclusive price worked out at about £20pppn. Food although sometimes a little limited in choice was excellent in quality. Rooms were basic although comfortable (better rooms may have been available at extra cost).
The staff were really friendly and helpfull,(look out for the waiter with the pony tail , can't remember name, he is very good and most pleasant). The only problem we had was at the bar on an evening, the female bar tender was sometimes quite moody and provided better service when the manager was watching. The Hotel IS a good 15mins from the center but the walk (apart from the last 100m hill) is quite pleasant. (look out for the dog when it gets dark though!)
All in all, a good nice friendly hotel.

“ Top Tip: Ergospasio restaurant, excellent service, excellent food, try an exceptional 28euro bottle of white cretan wine with a total bill of 75euros for 2 courses of high quality food and a magnificant view from the balcony overlooking the harbour.

“ We have just arrived home after a really lovely week at the Elounda Residence. The apartments were clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good for the price we paid...maybe a little more choice is needed at breakfast as we had scrambled eggs every day for a cooked breakfast but plenty of other choices of the continental variety. The pool is of a good size and we enjoyed a swim in it most days. The gardens are very attractive and the views are fantastic. We had an apartment (number 64) at the very top of the hill, which it has to be said is a monster and if you have any type of disability is a no, no. We hired a jeep for the week and even it had trouble getting up this hill....best to take a run at it!
I think car hire is a must at this hotel as it is half way up a mountainside, but well worth the walk for those breathtaking views over Elounda. The hotel does operate a courtesy bus down into town at around 10 in the morning and coming back at around 3 in the afternoon.
Would we return...most definately...loved every minute of it!

“ We loved the hotel.although a bit of a hill to our appt.It did,nt stop us enjoying the stay we had an amazing view of the country & surrounding sea and mountains,the food was plentiful and delicious ,also a cretan fish specialties "a la carte "on site at a discount for A/I,the pool area was clean & adjacent to the bar,rooms and towels cleaned daily The staff could not do enough for you and very freindly,for 5 euros could get a mercedes limo taxito/from hotel few mins from town and lovely fishing harbour eateries,&if you just wanted a drink, greek mese' nibbles were on the house,I would recommend Ergospacio restaurant on the main rd to Elounda & your lovely host "Costas" whose english is perfect and his complementary meses and welcoming persona from there a short walk along the waterfront, also in the town square,Megaro family restaurant which also has fresh locally caught fish daily,Parakalor my freinds!! will be back in 6 weeks! xx

try the happy train ride up the mountains to see the amazing view of Spinalonga island 1pm everyday!17 euros for adults child freindly takes 3 hrs drinks available at top in tiny village
Spinalonga boat rides 10 euros for short ride 9am -3pm daily take own drinks,or day trip with bbq,on board bar leaves from harbour 9.45am ( yet to go next trip!)

“ A dated 4 star which I would consider a 3 star. Great staff who where all helpful and friendly. Some visitors did not research so where surprised at the uphill walk. If you want the beach and night life you will be disappointed, luckily we knew what to expect and therefore can happily say we enjoyed our stay. Tennis court was not possible due to grass growing through the concrete. Great for those wanting walking and relaxing.
