The hotel was excellent. We were most impressed with the space that the hotel has got, though it was full house when we went last week of July, we didn't feel it was cramped. In fact, we didn't even see that many people around the poolside except in the evenings at the main restaurant but it was bearable. The food was excellent. The service was good. The staff were highly tolerant of their guests though they had notices posted on the board to tell their guests not to reserve the lounge chairs with their towels in the poolside, people still did. They told their guests not to take food out from the restaurants, people still did, some even packed sandwitches and put it into their bags which they brought in with them, etc...but the staff didn't say a word and turned a blind eye!

Top Tip: The beach was beautiful. A few local bars were an easy stroll on the beach from hotel. We absolutely loved it. Take half board because the local town is about 20 mins walk from hotel, you don't want to do it under the hot sun! To secure you have a double bed in your room, make sure you book superior bungalow! For family, you don't have that kind of problem!

Check-in date:

Stayed at the beach front part of the hotel on halfboard, which meant returning to the main part of the hotel, via the underpass, for all meals, as the beach front restaurant only opens in June. Upside is the beachfront pool, sunbeds and bar were never busy or crowded. Noise from mainroad which separates the two hotel complexes can be irritating at night but no more than that - perhaps more motorway-style screening would help here? Facilities in the bungalow-style room, and in all parts of the hotel were well up to 5 stars. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Food in both restaurants was excellent. Everywhere looked clean and fresh. The hotel is about a mile otside the nearest town, Georgioupolis, so renting a car is definitely worth the cost, if you can cope with Cretan road manners and unusual parking habits! The hotel is not on the UK package tour operators list, so, as English independent travellers, we were not surprised to find our fellow-tourists were German, Italian and French. Crete is a beautiful country and everyone we met, tourists and locals alike, was unfailingly friendly and helpful.

Top Tip: The beach at Georgioupolis and its beachfront restaurants are great value. The old Venetian port in Chanea is a must for a relaxing lunchtime frappe with ice cream, and people watching.
