“ It might be an idea for people to know that the Archeological Museum is closed for renovations (not that any work was visible) and the re-openiong date is a mystery. As there is not even a temporary exhibition there is no access to all the Minoan frescos and artifacts from Knossos. As that is what most people go to Heraklion for it is a major disappoiontment. They are obvioulsy not publicising this to avoid losing tourists. That said we really liked Heraklion and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in an excellent location and provided us with everything we could have needed. Recommended.

“ Efficient, clean, helpful. Good central location for a late arrival from England and when you leave, it is only a short walk to the bus station. Would use it again.
“ Top Tip: Avoid Knossos. It's a plastic Hollywood type re-creation. Go instead to the island of Spinalonga. You will get an authentic and moving insight to life in Europe's last 'home' for leprosy sufferers.
