This hotel is in desperate of a face lift! The shower room in the room we stayed, the taps were rusty and full of lime scale, and the toilet seat was very loose. In our bed room one of the plug points was broken, and there was no way of moving the beds near each other so we all slept in single beds. It’s ashamed that the hotel advertises the rooms have air-conditioning and a fridge but they don’t mention you need to pay extra for that. The swimming pool was getting greener and greener every day we stayed, at the last 2 day we didn’t go in as we didn’t feel it was safe. Last thing the hotels teem is quit a hippy one which was nice but when you see cats walking around the kitchen area we had to draw the line there!! We knew it wasn’t a 4 star hotel when we booked our holiday but I think the management need to make the hotel more presentable before we will consider going there again!!

Gabby and Martin were friendly and helpful. However it is in a quiet location and while we were there -first 2 weeks in october-some places were closing down for the winter.
There were a number of all inclusives in the area which is taking trade away from local bars and restaurants.

Top Tip: 20 mins walk to 3 or 4 tavernas at analipsi

We stayed at the Aloi in July 2009 for 2 weeks. The hotel is typically Greek and quite basic but has everything you need. Breakfast is basic with little choice, i.e. bread, cheese, jam, cereal, tea and coffee, and juice everyday. Hotel run by Gabi and Martin who are very helpful and friendly and cater for your every need. We booked a family room (due to price) but were given a double room instead which was a good job because the family rooms contain only single beds which cannot be moved (as they are inbedded in concrete!). Pool area very nice and relaxing, not overcrowded and never struggled to find sun loungers. Pool not ideal for young children and unconfident swimmers as it is deep, even in the shallow end. Food is very good and reasonably priced. There is a BBQ every Friday at the hotel costing 12 euro per person all you can eat with a variety of meats and cold salads - highly reccommended! Air con and safe must be paid for on arrival. Air con costs 5 euro per day and is a necessity! Safe costs 2 euro per day. Beach is a short 5 minute walk away with water sports and a variety of restaurants, taverns and bars, which are very nice if you want a nice relaxing evening. 2 sun loungers with an umbrella cost 6 euro. Centre of Hersonissos short cab ride away (usually 8 euro) with lots of nice shops, restaurants and bars and clubs.

Top Tip: Mylos beach bar (on the front) very good food and very cheap! Hersonissos by day and night caters for every need. Perfect for ones wanting a good night out and who want to avoid Malia (costing 20-25 euro by cab).

My wife and I stayed at the Aloi Hotel in July 2009 and had a wonderful time. The hotel is situated in a quiet location and is only a 5 minute walk from the sea front where there are a number of Taverna/restaurants and bars.

The hotel itself is typically Greek, rooms fairly basic but clean and comfortable. We paid 5 euros per day for the air con which is essential. There is also a fridge which they charge 5 euros per day, however we just plugged it in using our own continental adaptor (for free). The hotel is run by a great couple Martin and Gabbie and they serve food/drink all day at a reasonable price. The pool area is perfect for relaxing in wonderful surroundings. We would recommend the weekly BBQ on a Friday were they serve a great choice of meats and salad. Breakfast is very basic, serving cereal and toast with the odd bit of cheese.

Overall the hotel was great and we would definately return. the area of Anissaris is only small but perfect for couples wanting a relaxing break. The Tavernas on the sea front are perfect for a relaxing afternoon drink. The lively resort of Hersonnisos is only a 5 min taxi ride away where you will find a large selection of bars/clubs and restaurants surrounding the lovely harbour.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Aloi Hotel. The place is lovely, so relaxing and peaceful. It is a delightful traditional hotel, Gabi and Martin are so helpful and very friendly. The pool area is lovely, there was rarely more than 10 people using it. There is a BBQ once a week and speciality dishes are cooked that can be pre booked - the lamb was beautiful.
I will definately be returning.

Top Tip: We booked half board - however there is no choice, next time we will choose B&B as there is a good menu at very reasonable prices. The 10 minute walk to the beach is well worth it. Monday nights in old Hersonissos village is a treat with Greek dancing in the village in a beautiful setting surrrounded by restaurants - though you should get there early to get a place as is very popular.
