The hotel is situated high on a hill and provides the best views of Crete and the most wonderful sunsets. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and friendly nothing is too much trouble for them. They serve snacks throughout the day, the food is excellent, plenty of it and always hot and fresh. The rooms, grounds and pool area are spotless.

Top Tip: Try the local metze restaurant which is at the bottom of the hill as you walk from the hotel into Piskopiano (5 mins), it is a typical greek restaurant and run by a family. The restaurant has limited tables (it is very small and does'nt look much but the food is amazing and very cheap. You need to go early otherwise it is full, you need to be there by 7pm to get a seat unless your prepared to wait.
Also try the Steki restaurant and the Oliva, they are both situated on the main road in Pisko, as you walk from the hotel turn right at the bottom of the hill you will find the Oliva on the left and the Steki a little further up on the right, both serve great food although the Steki is a little better value.

Good for what you pay, but room damp and cupboards smelly. Owner a bit rude and her child is very noisey - dont go here for peace and quiet!

Top Tip: La Petrina restaurant in Old Town Hersonissos is amazing. we go every year. walk through the centre of old town hersonissos, turn left by the mini market, up a slight incline and take the first right. its on the left. all the food is delicious. but dont buy the wine. its priced at 20 euros but is in duty free for 4 euros!!!

The apartments were lovely and clean and the pool area was great but the apartments are at the top of the village, up some steep banks and steps. Don't think it would be suitable for anyone with difficulties walking or those with young children (you would never get a pushchair up the banks!). But if you can manage the banks its a lovely place to stay with some great views.

Top Tip: Piskopiano is a lovely village

Having recently returned from my first holiday with TravelRepublic,i would firstly like to point out that every part of the holiday ran extremely smoothly from the flights both outward & inward with Monarch Airlines(via Olympic Holidays),the airport transfer from Heraklion to the Driades Apartments in Piskopiano and return, and the self catering apartments were extremely clean, comfortable and probably having the best view over the resort and coastline of Hersonissos due to the location on the hillside.
I am quite fit at 55years old,and enjoyed the walk up and down the hill 3/4 times although some older clients would find this quite difficult as it is quite a steep climb upwards,so they would probably not suit any more elderly holidaymakers, although a taxi back up the hill costs around 7 euros,so bear this in mind
The apartments are under the personal supervision of the owners,Michael & Allana (with their beatiful little daughter). Nothing is too much trouble for them,Allana is in the pool bar from 9-00am in the morning through till the early hours of the morning and makes some wonderful Greek & English Breakfasts (All Day) and other meals are available. If you have any problems either Allana or Michael will sort them out immediately, and i for one would look forward to returning.
I travelled a a solo traveller & they made me feel very welcome.

Top Tip: There are many restaurants & tavernas in the the village of Piskopiano from traditional Greek to quite a few Irish Bars.
The nearest one to the apartments which i would recommend is just a short walk from the apartments is the 'Lichnos' where i had a wonderful meal of Kleftico and the desserts are also excellent if you get that far.Enjoy your meals with a few bottles of 'Mythos' the local greek beer,or some wine followed by the obligatory 'Raki' or two.......
Also nearby are the two villages of Koutalafari & Old Hersonissos, also offering a wide choice of dining experiences,10mins walk in either direction.
On Monday nights not to be missed is the 'Greek Dancing' & traditional plate smashing which goes on in the village of 'Old Hersonissos' in the square.
If you want a nice laid back holiday where the pace of life is nice & slow then Piskopiano in Crete & the surrounding area is for you,you won't be dissapointed & will receive a warm welcome from the friendly Cretan locals.....
