“ hotel and food very good , but the bathroom could do with a new shower head

“ I always like to give and honest opinion on all hotels that I stay in as I have read bad reviews and when gone enjoyed the hotel so I do pride myself on honesty and I am happy with clean hotels and nothing fancy. So this may seem quite a negative review but overall the hotel is ok just not a 4 star hotel and could do with some customer service training. On arrival you are given an all inclusive bracelet and an a4 sheet of paper with breakfast lunch dinner times and no other information is given. You are not informed that the hotel does not change towels everyday and if you complain they said you shouldnt put them on floor when dirty and dont give you any other towels until the next day. The bed linen isnt changed either everyday. So would not rate this as a 4 star hotel. There are towels for sunbeds but again no info was given on this so still dont know how you get them and if they are chargeable. The reception staff arent polite or friendly . Hotel entertainment is dismal and finishes every night at 10.30pm. Rooms numbered 00 - 32 are sea view rooms the rest are over looking the houses and back view of mountains. The food is really good and dont have a bad word to say about it, plentiful although you have to be quick when they replenish. This hotel caters for mostly slovakians, russians and germans.
The snack bar is basic by the pool and drinks are in very flimsy plastic cups. We have only just got back today and there are quite a lot of flies around this time of year. As the beach at the hotel is terrible it is shingle and burns your feet with the heat. Water is clear though. The pools are good for the kids although be careful of the decking boards around pool as they are not secure and if you tread on one side they shoot up as they are not all screwed down. The hotel is on outskirts of lerapetra and only a 10 minute walk from the busy lerapetra city where there are plenty of tavernas, bars etc.

“ Top Tip: Castellos Taverna in lerapetra town near the castle port. The rooms are not as seen on their website these only exist on the first floor which if available are 15 euros extra per day.
Water sports on the beach are quite dear 15 euros for the rings etc and 35 for the jetski 10min. You can get them cheaper on the beach going east 25 min car drive and the sand is nice here and soft.
I recommend Castellos taverna which is lovely food, lovely staff and owners and reasonably priced.

“ We are a family of 2 adults, an 11 year old girl and an 8 year old boy.

What made the hotel for me was the staff (especially reception). Always happy to help, despite the very long hours they work, 7 days a week.

There are some good slides in the kid’s pool. The main pool was deep and good, mainly 1.7m.

Food was good, always something for us to eat. The hotel was very clean, the pool area hosed down every morning, and a cleaner picked up rubbish and emptied the bins during the day.

It was nice that is close to a real Greek town, it was not too touristy but had nice bars and a few tourist shops.

Entertainment every night, kids disco thing first, then the usual sort of Mr and Mrs and Karaoke. But the bar is good, the kids tended to play pool an hour.

The shop is good and about the same prices as elsewhere.

We upgraded to a sea view. It was worth it, but the Mountain View inland is good.

If you take your laptop, the wireless is free. I enjoyed the holiday and would recommend it, or go back again.

“ Top Tip: We hired a car from the nice man across the road. We got advice from him and went to a plam tree beach and went to the water park in the car. We got there before the tourist buses and left after them. So we didn't have to wait for the slides.play pool for 5 Euros an hour
Transfer time on a coach is about 2 hours, an hour and a half by taxi. BUT when we arrived the transfer company kept us in the coach for an hour and a half as waited for other planes to arrive! We booked the transfer through travel republic

use their computer for 5 euros an hour.

“ It is a nice walk along the sea front promenade up to the harbour. Watch out for the sea crashing over the sea wall. Great Fun!

“ Top Tip: Towards the end of the season the food provided by the hotel is reduced and some dishes can run out. So prompt attendance at meal times ensures you have a choice.
