Unless you have a car, you're pretty much stuck in the hotel. The local roads are narrow and very very steep.
Hotel "entertainment" is almost non-existent, with the most boring "Greek night" we've ever experienced. The hotel food is uninteresting and always cold, even for the 1st people to arrive.
“ Top Tip: Fodele beach, about 10 minutes drive to the west, is worth a visit. For cash points, ignore the nearest one in Pelegia (much too hard to drive to) and go to Amoudara, near Heraklion. Further away but much easier to get to!

Hotel set in lovely quiet area. A healthy walk to the beach but enjoyed the exercise. The hotel was really clean with fresh flowers left on the bed most days.

“ Apartments too remote from beach, restaurants, etc. because of very steep roads. It was a difficult one hour walk for a young, healthy couple to get to the nearest bars.
