“ This is typical basic Greek accommodation which at first glance we thought a little disappointing, but after two weeks we fell in love with the room and the area! The studios are on a street off the 'main' street, minutes from the beach, and at the foot of an unspoilt gorge (which you can explore if you want to get off the beaten track - literally!). Nice pool and food & drink available from the bar. The owners are a friendly family, but don't speak much English.
“ Top Tip: Plakias beach is the nearest and is fine, but the best is Damnoni beach - 10 mins drive east of Plakias. You can't go wrong with any of the restaurants in Plakias and there are a couple of more fashionable bars, sometimes with live music - Notus bar at the end of the street where the Studios are. Not much for late teens/early 20's but these mostly go to north Crete in any case!
