A lovely, family run hotel. Although i went right at the end of the season i was made very welcome. The room (a studio for 2) was clean and well furnished and equipped. location is excellent, right in the middle of Platanias, so plenty of choice for restaurants and tavernas even so late in the year. It had a nice if small pool, and a really pleasant bar serving excellent cocktails. I had B&B and because it was so quiet my breakfast was freshly cooked, and just the cold stuff was on the buffet. The sea was still warm and i was lucky that it was warm and sunny all week. The only drawback to visiting this late is that none of the bus or boat excursions were running so I did not see as much of the island as I would have liked, so i will be going back a bit earlier next year.

Top Tip: try the little train which goes from the kiosk (turn left out of the hotel, and it is a few hundred yds on the left). I did the inland trip to the Arkadi monastery, it was great. My favourite restaurants were Nostos, in Platanias and To Pigadi in Rethymno.

This hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful and free wifi/ computer available in the reception area. The pool area was well kept; the hotel is only a couple of minutes walk to a great beach and there are multiple restaurants within a 5 minute walk. It is also only a short drive to the centre of Rethymnon.

The not so good side was the set up of the one bedroom apartment itself. Travelling as a couple we were disappointed to find two 3/4 beds pushed together rather than a double bed. There was no proper sofa in the living area, just another bed which made it hard to sit comfortably. The kitchen facilities were small and not as good as we hoped. No oven or grill, only 2 slow electric hobs. We ended up only using the fridge and kettle! Parking is also VERY limited - only space for 5 or so cars on the street out front. We had to park a reasonable distance away from the hotel a few times (mid Oct). During high season I’m sure this would be a problem.

All in all, great location, clean, friendly staff and if the weather is good enough for you to be outside all the time it is a great place to stay. The rooms are functional but not comfortable. I’m glad we only paid £200 for the week. Less than this, you have a bargain. I wouldn’t recommend paying more than this.

Top Tip: Taverna Yiannis and Vergina on the same side of road as the hotel were both great (walk up the street to the left). We ate at both twice. Sea Bass at Taverna Yiannis was superb.

If you take the side street next to Miram Supermarket (across from hotel) to the beach, you will find three different hotels' sun loungers on your right as you meet the beach. The middle group has a great Taverna attached. I can’t remember the name sorry! But the service and food was amazing!

excellent hotel, owners & staff very freindly, hotel clean & modern. maids came daily. hotel bar open until 02.00am. quite while we were there, but could be noisy in summer if room near bar area.close to restaurants & bars of platanias. and only short walk to the nearby area of kampo adele.

Top Tip: for supermarket try lidl only 10 mins walk from hotel.
try taverna garden restaurant & central cafe bar next door to each other. run by greek family since 1961 good food & resonable prices.

This is a family run hotel & is ECO friendly ,with recycling bins in our apartment. The family & staff made us very welcome. Nothing was too much bother for them. A clean evironment, lovely big pool. Very good bar with super cocktails!! Situated 100M from the beach. Restaurants, bars, shops & several supermarkets close by.

.

Top Tip: A fairly regular and sometimes very crowded bus service to Rythemno, great for shopping, walking and keeping cool in the old town. Excellent fish restaurants at the Harbour and would recommend The Erofili restaurant- where they do very good Cretan foods. Try some of the local wines too-
