“ These apartments deserve their relatively good grading.
The rooms are simply furnished by spacious. I was offered a choice of two ground floor apartments on arrival which is always a nice touch. In fact all the staff are very helpful and good customer service seems to come naturally to them and spoke very good English.
During my 7 day stay the apartment was cleaned 3 times with fresh towels on each visit.
The two pool areas were great and very quiet but I don't think the apartments were full (late September). There is a small beach with bar just two minutes walk down from the complex.
The food served in the bar/restaurant was simple but tastey and reasonabley priced.
The location was a little remote but the bus service to Rethymnon was easy to use if a little unpunctual.
The village of Gerani was a short walk (but very uphill) away with a couple of bars, a nice bakery and two minimarkets that seemed to have all you would need if you really wanted to self cater - but the cooking facilities are limited.
This was my first time in Crete and I'm not sure if the island quite lived up to my expectations but I paid £80 for the week which I think is excellent value. A good find if you are looking for a simple holiday to laze around a pool and soak up the sun.

“ Top Tip: Ask for an apartment on an upper floor. All have balconcies, and if sea facing, lovely views.

“ Good clean spacious and well laid out self-catering accommodation. The development is family run and friendly. There is an in house supermarket and good restaurant/bar. The local village, Gerani, is half a mile up the road. The village has 2 supermarkets some eateries and a bakery. At the bottom of the road is the shore and small unimpressive beach. Camari is reasonably priced accommodation which provides a good base from which to visit the lovely towns of Rethymnon (15 mins) or Chania (60mins). There is a local bus service at the bottom of the road. My advice would be to taxi into town for €10 and hire a car for €20/day. A good location to chill out.

“ Camari Garden is a lovely block of appartments with restaurant and helpful reception and games room. we stayed in a studio which was very spacious with small kitchen that we just used to make our breakfast. balcony was large enough for table 2 chairs and dryer. we walked up to the village about 10 mins walk to a few restaurants but we also ate at Camari Garden, both reasonable prices. its a 15 minutes bus ride into Rethmnon and you can get a bus at the main road 5 mins walk. the cleaners came in to make your bed and gave clean towels every other day, good service! very good value.

“ Top Tip: we went on the Samaria Gorge trip from here with Klados Travel. very good guide George who looked after us checking our progress, giving interesting information and light-hearted jokes! 88 Euros total cost for spectacular scenery and good advice.
