The Illatia Village Apartments are situated in Pigianos Kampos in Rethymnon , 200 metres from the beach and only 15 minutes away from Rethymnon, although there are a number of small shops and restaurants just a short walk away. Rethymnon is centred round an old harbour and the beach, which starts in the centre of town and stretches for miles.

Top Tip:
Local taverna 5 minutes walk away,in the shade, very calm and peaceful with excelent service and good quality food
Hire a car and travel up into the mountains to get the real feel of crete

Ilatia village.
Good News
The Hotel was near the beach. There is a nice swimming pool, dining area and bar.
Very relaxing and quite. Food was adequate but I would book only B&B and eat at the many restaurants near by, a meal for two with wine or beer was £20 with lots of choice.
Bad News
Rethymno is five miles away so you will need a car, you can get the bus but there are long queues at most stops. There are three small villages on the way to Rethymno with some shops and restaurants.
Our bed sheets smelt stale and had large holes in them, our towels smelt of sweat, and nothing was clean, all had to be replaced. The toilet seat was broken and slid off when used. Our hot water was cut off for 24 hours. Our cold water was also cut off on our last day. The dining room had two water drips from the ceiling leaving large puddles on the flood, which had obviously been there somtime. Tables had been placed to miss the drips but you had to dodge them. Some lights where broken and our outside chairs broken. There was a bad smell from the farm next door every evening and lots of mosquitoes.
The air conditioning cost £49 and the wall safe £12 for seven days, and you will need them both.

The hotel was a very nice clean freindly greek run hotel. The food was typically greek and plenty of choice. With lots of local bars and restaraunts near by( 15 min walk to furthest) ther was plenty of choice for a differnt night out.
The hotel was at the quiet end of the start of the busy strip whic goes all the way into Rethymnon. Beaches were stony/sandy but nice and local to the hotel. with small tavernas and bars dotted along the beach front.
“ Top Tip: Poppyes resteraunt only 5 mins walk and served grreat food and salads to die for.
