The picturesque fishing village of Sissi is situated less than 1 km away and may easily be reached by passing along the footpath.
The enchanting harbour as well as the centre of Sissi where guests will discover a selection of cosy taverns, shops and kafenions, typically Greek coffee bars, invite guests to enjoy a relaxing holiday. The archaeological site of Malia featuring the excavations of the famous Minoan palace are to be found some 7 km away and the centre of Malia offering a selection of shopping and entertainment venues lies approximately 10 km away. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel providing excellent connections to the nearby towns as well as to Malia and Heraklion (regularity depends on the season) Transfer to Heraklion airport takes around 45 minutes.Each of the tastefully decorated rooms, suites and apartments are located within the main building or the bungalow villages and features a bathroom, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a radio, a minibar/ fridge, air conditioning (centrally controlled within the main building; individually controllable in the bungalows), central heating, a hire safe, comfortable sitting are and a balcony/ terrace with views out over the sea or the complex's gardens. Family rooms with 2 bedrooms may be booked in the bungalow area.
The seafront bungalows are similarly equipped to the double rooms, lie directly beside the sea and enjoy fabulous views out over the sea. The family suites additionally come with a lounge/ bedroom with 2 sleeping options, a separate bedroom with air conditioning but are otherwise similarly equipped to the double rooms.In the greenery-filled outdoor complex are two swimming pools with separate children and baby pools as well as a poolside snack bar and a sun terrace with sun loungers, towels and parasols laid out ready for use. Further leisure options include a sauna and a gym and, for an additional fee, a massage service and selection of spa treatments. Sports such as aerobics tennis (2 hard courts), table tennis, squash (2 courts), archery, mountain biking, beach volleyball, billiards and minigolf may be tried out (additional fees apply). A range of watersports including windsurfing, banana boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing and, on request, diving, are also available at extra charges.
During the pre and post season periods an additional heated indoor pool is available for use and the seasonal entertainment programme with themed evenings and live music provides some variation for guests. During the peak season, there is also a special entertainment for children and those aged 12 and over.

“ Another fantastic stay at the Kalimera Kriti. The food is the best we have experienced on holiday, the atmosphere is relaxed - the perfect way to chill out for a week.
“ Top Tip: When it's cloudy or just too hot, bob to the indoor pool which never seems to get used.

“ The Kalimera Kriti is a wonderful hotel with excellent facilities and very helpful staff. The food is exceptional and it is very easy to overindulge! The only small criticism was the fact that with the evening meal you had to buy bottled water - tap water was unavailable. The charge for this was over 3 euro which when added each evening to your drinks bill soon adds up. Needless to say the wine, beer and soft drinks are fairly expensive but this is acceptable at such a good hotel. Sissi is a short walk away but a taxi back is best if it is dark - 7 euro.
“ Top Tip: After breakfast get out on either a mountain bike or hire vehicle and take in some of the mountain scenery. The cafes outside of the tourist areas are perfect for a light refreshment and much cheaper than resorts. Then head back to the hotel and relax.

“ This was a lovely hotel with delightful staff. The only downside was that the first rooms we were given did not have a sea-view, which we had paid for. It was soon remedied, though, and we realised afterwards that the hotel was probably worried about us being disturbed by the large group of conference members who were already in situ.
