Metaxatos Apartments
The Metaxatos Apartments have amazing views - situated on a hillside only 300 metres from the sea overlooking the crystal blue waters and the coastline on the other side of the gulf. The location of the apartments is unique and the surrounding space is full of olive trees, blue grass, flowers and wild vegetation. This is a family run complex with a welcoming smile and good service. Located at the very outskirts of Lassi, only ten minutes walk from the centre, and 1500 metres from the centre of Argostoli, there is the best of both worlds here. Peace and tranquility and easy access to a bustling community if you want it. Metaxatos is close to two quiet small beaches and 20 minutes from the better known beaches at Platis Gialos and Makris Gialos. The apartments and studios are very well kept, recently renovated and fully equipped. A good choice for a peaceful beach holiday with some classic facilities in a natural environment for all the family.
Local Tips: Lassi itself has many places of interest. The small chapel and cave of Agios Gerasimos, the patron Saint of the island, who lived here as a hermit for six years, is nearby and worth a visit.

The Metaxatos Apartments consist of studios and apartments that sleep from 2 to 5 people. They are comfortably furnished and clean and tidy with air-conditioning, satellite TV, a fridge, fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a shower or bath, International direct dial telephone, electricity 220 volts/50 cycles, daily cleaning service and a change of linen 3 times per week. Each has a veranda or terrace with great sea views.

“ A little dated and could maybe do with a little sprucing up in the bathrooms, but beautiful views from the balconies down the hillside and across the water more than make up for it. A bit hilly, but nothing extreme. A pleasant bar for drinks and snacks, and just a few minutes to lots of restaurants and a number of beaches in walking distance.
“ Top Tip: Butlers House Restaurant had really good food - sadly only discovered it on our last night. Also the Chinese Restaurant on the coast road between Lassi and Argostolli was really good - huge servings.

The apartment was lovely, but unfortunately was missed on the bin emptying/clean sheets rota for 3 days which meant by my final day the apartment felt quite unclean. I could not find anyone around to request a clean. On arrival the room was not quite ready and I was not given any information about how to get electricity which caused alarm when I woke up a dark apartment. The pool was very clean, but I think the whole place looked in need of a little refurbishment. I think the young couple running the bar/pool want to attract a younger customer as the pool had been painted with mermaids and advertised as a 'fantasy pool', which, to be honest, it didn't need to be. It somehow lowererd the standard of the place.
Beautiful views from my apartment and on one side of the pool. Near all local amenities and bus service.
“ Top Tip: Many gorgeous tavernas. Ionia taverna my favourite. Lovely beach just a few yards down a dirt track. Quiet and cooked fish barby everyday.

“ The apartment we had, no. 13, was very clean, basic, but having everything you need. It had fantastic views over the sea and a lovely patio area, on the lower level of the apartment blocks. It was great value for the price, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. It was a lovely relaxing place to be, yet near to all the bars, restaurants and beaches.

Top Tip:
All the restaurants and bars we visited were good. Our favourite was on Wednesday nights at Sirtaki. The food is good and on Wednesdays they have singers and musicians typical of Kefalonia. They were really good fun and played excellently. Butlers House and Reseto were also very good.
Veronicas is a lovely cocktail bar with good music, and Eden is a very pretty bar to sit in, with good music and small meals.
The best beach is Makris Yialos, about 20 mins walk from Metaxatos. There are nearer beaches in little coves, the best being Antonio's, with its friendly staff, cheapest sunbed and umbrella prices and good music. Argostoli nearby is a nice town to visit, hire a car and visit Assos, a lovely little village, and Fiscardo, a lovely harbour village. It's worth going on the cruise to Ithaka too.
