Excellent large pool, very clean rooms and reasonable breakfast in a very quiet rural location yet only minutes walk from the beach & the town taverna & bars.
Gnats / flies were a problem at night June / July throughout the tigaki town area but this was subsiding rapidly july 9th onwards (fly spray & Mossie repellent recommended from local supermarket). staff - very good, orange (squash) as opposed to fresh juice at breakfast was only dissappointment.
Ground floor Rooms facing the Chapel are in block 6 (ie: 605, etc)

Top Tip:
Alykis Taverna (1st on right from path by chapel) excellent atmosphere & good food / location for sunset. Epiros, 1/2 mile right along front from fountain, very good food. Ampelli 2 miles along coast road (towards Kos) is an excellent traditional vineyard taverna (by bus to Fili apartments) then turn off road adjacent to the roadside fruit selling stall.
Cycle hire avilable from Hard Moto (on the coast road by Espiro's) @ 3 euro per day.

Good hotel with nicely kept grounds. The location was excellent and going out of the back gate it was very close to the beach.
The staff were helpful and friendly on the Reception Desk. The room was as we expected, clean and fairly basic. Having a small fridge in the room was absolutely fantastic bonus - great to be able to keep our water and a few beers cool. There was plentiful supply of clean sheets and towels.
Nice pool which was never overcrowded.
It would have been good to have had a clothes airer on the veranda as the the only place we had to try our towels and costumes was on the back of the chairs.
The breakfast was fair but we would have appreciated some different fruit instead of the water melon every day. It was a bit of a mad scramble on the last morning as the hotel was full by then and most people seem to do what we do - leave it until the last minute before going.

Top Tip:
When you go out of the back gate and make your way down to the beach the first Taverna that you pass is the Alykes. We spent most lunchtimes in here and several evenings. The waiters were friendly and the food was good. The prices tended to be a bit cheaper than in the centre of town.
We had several good meals in Spyros Restaurant and Meni was very good.
We spent several great nights in Mascot bar being entertained by a Geordie lad called Micky Malibu. He was excellent and played a great range of music. He was joined one night by Fergus Nolan where they played as the Jeenies - another brilliant night.
Karma Bar just next door to Mascot has the faster service we have ever experienced. The barman and waiter work as a great team - no sooner had you ordered your drinks and they were being brought to your table. Good atmosphere and good sounds.

“ The hotel was excellent,rooms are comfortable and cleaned daily,air-con is free which is a bonus,the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The hotel is in a queit and peacful area,but close enough to the beach and the town area,and the pool is one of the best we have been to.All in all we had a great holiday.
“ Top Tip: We enjoyed the food in the Meni restaurant, and the spagetti factory and the Mascot bar is always good for a fun night out.

Tigaki Star is a lovely clean and welcoming hotel with a lovely big pool for adults and a great kids pool. The location is good but there was occasion problems with mostqitos in the evening due to the hotel being quiet close to the lake. The only criticism we have with the hotel is the continental breakfast. It's not the worst we've ever had but it's also not the best. If you are like myself and are unable to eat bread then the breakfast is very limited. Cornflakes, cheese, ham, yogurt and eggs were the only thing available. I'm not to keen on ham and cheese first thing so cornflakes and eggs it was for two weeks. Our five year old daughter was also not to keen either.
The hotels guests are also about ninty five percent German, so if your looking for a place to stay that is either more English or of mixed nationalities, then maybe a self catering apartment would be better.
“ Top Tip: Onerio Taverna has fantastic food and lovely staff, espcially Likey. Great guy! They often danced and even stop traffic to get everyone up and dancing in the street. Mylos Taverna also has fantastic food. A very extensive menu and again lovely staff.
