Akti Beach Club Hotel

“ Had a great holiday booked at very short notice. Hotel provides a curtosy bus regularly into the main resort which is very useful. However, there is a beach path to Kardamena, 2 miles from hotel, level walking.

“ We were very impressed with the Akti beach. Visited on 2-9 May (very early season) Our rooms were spacious, modern and very clean, the maid came every day of our week long holiday and changed towels and bedding cleaned the bathroom. The hotel grounds were very pleasant and everywhere was spotless. Plenty of pools to choose from. We spent most of our days around the main pool were the children were entertained by the animation team. Adam, Nevy and Chantal worked very hard keeping their guests entertained. My children enjoyed the daily activities with the team, they did beach volley ball, killer darts , water polo, water gym, ping pong football and many more. The food was amazing. Plenty of choice and very very tastey. My kids loved the freshly made pizzas. They have different cooking stations chinese, Italian and Greek there is always a selection of grilled meat, plenty of wonderful salads and a selection of deserts, icecreams etc. Could not fault the food at all. There are snacks during the day but I didn't have any as I ate enough at breakfast lunch and dinner. You can help yourself to various flavoured ice creams throughout the day. Pancakes are cooked at 11pm -midnight in the restaurant. They don't supply bottled water in all inclusive you have to buy the bottles not sure how much. But there are drinking water taps and everyone basically buys a bottle from the store in the hotel and refills it. I did this and had no problem with it. Drinks are local brands plenty of choices. There's a cocktail menu, but the bar staff will make cocktails that aren't on the list for you. Kids can just help themselves to soft drinks. The evening entertainment was good, the team make everything lots of fun as they are a lively little group and I believe as the season goes the animation team grows. The season had just started when we were there and there were just 4 in the team. We did use the beach which was pleasant, the water is clear you can see lots of little fish when you paddle, take beach shoes as its quite pebbley. We did use the peddloes and canoes which are free of charge. We had fantastic weather every day it was hot with clear blue skies. We did have a few afternoons were the wind picked up but that was great as it made the heat bearable. The pools were all well maintained with plenty of sunbeds. We had a wonderful week here and would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely look at returning.

“ We arrived many hours late due to Greek air control shenanigans - but no problem to the hotel 'checking in guys', who waived most of the normal procedures to enable us to get some much needed sleep quickly. Drinks and cakes were offered and the room was located, as per the request on our booking slip.
As our holiday week was the last week of the resorts summer season, there wasn't that many holidaymakers, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as there was no queuing for drinks and the hotel still put on a full spectrum of food varieties.

The Hotel complex was clean, spacious and provided all the services one could expect. The staff were friendly and helpful and went 'the extra mile' to help customers who were very concerned about the Greek national strikes and its obvious travel ramifications.

The fact that hard beds and cold chips one day was the only niggles reflects in the (high for us) 8.7 scoring and location was not great for party animals (their fault for choosing Kos)!
