Diamond Apartments - ex-Lydia Apartments

“ just not our cup of tea . Extremely dated rooms up a road thats dirty and scuffy .In need of alot of updating. No wi fi and after feeding 2 euros into an old style computer set up ,was informed the connection was erratic due to the weather,gave up after 15 mins, no refund was offered just a shrugg of shoulders .We were in a ground floor appartment and the smell of the drains at times in bathroom was horrendous we tried various sprays to mask the smells but it would eventually come back .Seemed like the staff had end of season blues and most things seemed an effort. Needs a lot of money spending on the rooms including sound proofing, in the short time the other rooms were occupied every thing they did could be heard clearly which can be very annoying . On the plus side the grounds including the pool area seemed ok and well tendered

“ Top Tip: check prices at bars etc as variations are a lot from as low as 1.50 euros per beer wine etc too 6 euros for same thing tavernas on main rd near police station being good value

“ the hotel was good, easy to get around, near the town center & beach, the staff were very helpful & informative.would definately go back. nothing was to much trouble for sakis and mary, the managers.

“ Top Tip: the sunset restaurant or the caravan, ask sakis for directions,if you want english food i would recomend the sunburnt arms restaurant, again ask sakis for directions.

“ very small apartment but was kept spotless. People in charge helpful with advice on places to eat, problems with anything in the apartment was seen to straight away. Walking distance to beach, restaurants, Kos town and harbour. Cycle lanes - plenty of people cycling. Requires certain modernisation but apparently it is going to b
e done this winter.

“ Top Tip: The Caravan restaurant - small but cheap and freindly in walking distance.

“ What a great place to stay in Kos, made even better by the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff... thank you. Stayed in a 1 bedroomed apartment with balcony overlooking fields, lovely and quiet, we were in block 4 and the gardens in the complex were exceptionally well kept. Apartment clean with everything needed for a self catering holiday, maids called every day during our 10 day stay to empty bins and make beds. The pool and pool bar were clean and tidy at all times. The Lydia is about a 15 minute walk to the main Kos town down lit streets, with the beautiful harbour front and old town and the same to the beach. I believe the Lydia is going to have a refurb during winter of 2011 and a name change. Would definately recommend these apartments and would definately stay there again. To Mary, Zakis, Katerina and all the hard working staff at the Lydia, a BIG THANK YOU for making our stay with you a memorable one : )
