Sevastos Studios Hotel

“ Good points
- Free wifi
- Excellent pool
- Bar on-site with hospitable English-speaking barman (Hi Syd!) - good for single travellers
- Rooms simple/clean with hob/fridge (with a couple of bottles of complementary water)/kettle sensitively tucked in a cupboard so you could ignore them or use them as you wished - a tin of baked beans is 1euro60 so it was still generally cheaper to get a take away than eat in! - and a balcony overlooking the pool
- Very near to main centre (5-10 minutes walk) along quiet roads - various ways to get to beach or bars/restaurants, buses to Rhodes (from Rhodes town you can get to various other parts of Rhodes Island) and the harbour for boat tours. Felt safe
- Coach transfer took me right to the hotel, and picked up there too

Weaker points
- Breakfast wasn't very appetising (cheese/ham roll) though the staff do what they can to please, and you shouldn't expect any more for the price
- It wouldn't be difficult to provide a hair dryer in rooms - given the weight restrictions on flights these days it would have helped
- No information about local tourist attractions, maps etc. A simple noticeboard in the hotel bar/breakfast room would be easy to put together with basic info for buses/boat tours etc.
- I went at the start of the season (2nd week in May) so things were just starting, and I wasn't able to get breakfast until 10am on the final day of my stay. Also shops/bars were only just opening, few tourists - I'd check this out better before booking next time
- Bathroom/shower room smelt a bit musty
- Got a bit bitten at night - take some mosquito fluid and make sure you do your elbows!

“ Top Tip: There's a good gyros bar at the junction of bar street and club street. Also, Marios Taverna/Restaurant by the harbour does very good food with a beach/sea view despite it's humble/slightly touristy appearance; very friendly.

I would usually walk to the harbour first then walk along the beach to the central beach area/bars, but there's another route via "Asda" if you prefer that way.

“ Clean but basic accommodation, great value for money. Friendly and very helpful staff. Location of apartments are within walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants.

“ Top Tip: Harbour restaurants are the best places to eat. If you hire a car, then there are some lovely villages in the countryside to explore.

“ me and my husband stayed for two nights while travelling around rhodes island,very clean hotel,rooms well maintained.nice bar and restaurant area.pool area kept clean at all times.matthew and sevas are friendly genuine guys with lots of knowledge on the surrounding area.look forward to seeing you guys again later in the summer

“ This accomodation is basic as you would expect for the price. However that said it was very clean, new towels etc every day. The owner Sevastos and all his staff were extreamly friendly and helpful. The pool and communal areas,bar etc were in good order and everthing worked.

Had a great relaxing week, if we return to Rhodes would definately stay here again.
