Arrived early hours of the morning and issued a room. Not the room we expected. Evidently the hotel was fully booked and we were put in a cheaper, smaller room. We did question this and had our room changed which we were very happy with. So do question the room you are offered. We did read on some review that this hotel had been recently refurbished but it did look very tired.
Excellent room service, towels changed every day. Food excellent though breakfast was the same every day. I have coeliac condition and could not eat any of the sweets. They did however provide yoghurt when requested and there was always lots of fruit. Waiters extremely helpful, nothing too much for them. Elisabeth on front desk very helpful.

Top Tip: Very central for all Rhodes Town but not noisy. Obviously out of season so lots of places closed but managed to find a few good bars. Day trips to islands very good but check price as they do vary.

Great hotel in a fantastic location - right in the middle of the town. 2 mins to Mandraki Harbour and 8 mins to the Old Town. Lovely swimming pool and friendly staff. Only complaint was the food - nothing suitable for children, often cold and strange combinations! Would definitely go back to the hotel - but B&B rather than half board!!

Top Tip: Iallysos about 5 miles away is worth a visit - climb to the top of the giant cross for fantastic views!! Also Kamiros and Lindos for the ruins - children under 16 are free which is great!!

Hotel clean and comfortable and staff very helpful.

Booked on half board basis and found most evening meals challanging. Buffet provided varied substantially with some cooked dishes almost inedible.

We decided on the Plaza Hotel because it was the only one in Rhodes Town with no negative comments, and it proved to be a good choice. The room was as you would expect (could have done with a few more hangers) very clean with a comfortable bed and a balcony with a street view which for us was fine. The double glazing was very good and filtered out any noise when the door was closed, allowing undisturbed sleep. The air con is efficient and quiet.Housekeeping is very good, with fresh bed linen and towels every day. We had opted for half board but were skeptical about the food. Wrong, the meals were excellent with lots of choice for breakfast and dinner so we didn't feel the need to eat out and the staff were all attentive and very friendly. The hotel is in such a good location (if you're not bothered about being on the beach) being only a 10 minute walk from beach, harbour, old or new town. We mostly walked to the Old Town in the evening, enjoying the atmosphere with all the hustle and bustle of the shops etc. then back to the Plaza Bar for a few drinks served by their excellent friendly barman. We would recommend this hotel to all.

Top Tip: Did not enjoy the boat trip to Lindos, it took longer than expected and then you have to face the return journey. If I went again it would have to be by coach/bus.
Also Lindos is onlt suitable for people who are reasonably fit. The acropolis is 300 steps up from the village, which is a long steep hill up from the harbour. They operate an outdated and cruel taxi service,(ab)using donkeys.
On the other hand,Kallithea Springs by bus was very enjoyable. The place is beautiful and the tiny bay, with full facilities, is breathtaking. The sea here was the warmest I have ever known and I would definitely go back, loved it.
In Rhodes Town, on the sea front just near the 'train' stop, is a nice bar with tables outside under the trees (can't remember the name) where they serve a nice coffee or cold 'beer' (also food but we didn't try it) at reasonable prices. A good spot to sit and watch the world go by.
