A beautiful hotel with a friendly and helpful staff and with a wide choice of food, very well presented.
The location is excellent, on the sea front, and only a short walk from the old city.
Unfortunately the hotel is now a little tired. Some of the floors in the corridors need to be replaced, and in our bathroom, some of the plumbing is finished off extremely poorly, with the top of the toilet cistern having a large piece broken off. There was no ventilation in the bathroom. The trim around the outside of the lifts was missing, exposing the insulation. This could be dangerous for young children.
However, it was the end of the season, but even so, I would have expected a better standard from a 5 star hotel.

Top Tip:
The little 'train' which runs round the city is an excellent way to get to see many of the 'sights'.
A boat trip on the fast ferry to Marmaris is a good day out.

“ We found the hotel very clean and tidy at all times. The bar staff in the main part of the hotel were very friendly, but some of the saff on reception and in the buffet room weren't very helpful or happy. In the buffet restaurant it was very crowded and you were sat close to other people. You felt that you had to eat and run. Our room was very clean but it was just above the all inclusive bar which had a singer, organist every night that went on till 12.00pm and played the same songs. I would stay at the Mitsis Grand Hotel again but only if I could book bed and breakfast. It is more like a 3-4 star than 5 star.
“ Top Tip: We found some really nice places to eat just around the corner from the Hotel. The Koyko and Scalini's both served real greek food and the staff very helpful with what to choose from the menu. Scolini's had greek guitar players, smashing of plates and a boss that played a tambourine, while the Koyko had a roof garden with traditional music playing. We had our meals out most evenings without one bad experience or having to paying a lot. There is a restaurant right next to the Koyko but can't remember the name, it was equally as good and had a roof terrace.
