Meliton Hotel

“ great hotel, quiet surroundings. Pleasant staff and owners. Definately 3star, not 2star. Food very nice and rooms basic but always kept clean every day. Good job all inclusive as nothing nearby for eating independently or nightlife. Depends what you want from holiday. All in all, a nice place.

“ Clean, friendly hotel. Not close to beach, but free minibus takes you and brings you back 3 hours later although you can easily walk to/from in twenty mins. Local buses close by to get you around and one from hotel in morning to get you into Rhodes. Staff very pleasant and helpfull. Food not brilliant but always something that you can eat. A good cheap holiday.

“ Just returned from a week stay at the Meliton Hotel. This is a simple, family run hotel. I found the rooms to be of a decent size. Rooms are very clean and a maid service cleans the rooms and replaces dirty towels and sheets every day. Bathrooms comprise of a shower and a toilet and basin. Basic, but nevertheless clean.
Foodwise - breakfast comprises of a mixture of continental (cheeses, coldmeats, yogurts) and hot (scrambled eggs, baked beans, little sausages). Bread rolls and mini toast is also provided. Endless supply of tea, coffee and juices are available on tap. Lunch and Dinner were traditional home-cooked Greek meals which I found to be delicious. The chef obviously tried to make some allowance for British tastes by providing chips as an optional extra with your meals. My fussy 3 year old didn't complain once and she thought the Greek dishes were yummy as did my Husband and I!
There is an adequately sized pool which is cleaned regularly and I certainly didn't see any signs of dirtiness around this area. Drinks are served by the pool, but you are asked to use the plastic tumblers they have so that there are no accidents with broken glass.
They have a little play area for toddlers and the younger children and my little one really loved this area. It is all enclosed and no matter where you sit, either by the pool or on the terrace, you can see your children and it was amazing to be able to relax without worrying where your little has got to.
Theologos beach is very close and you can either walk there or Dimitri, the owner, runs a little shuttle service to the beach every morning at 10am and he picks you up at 1pm in time for lunch!
If you want to explore a bit further, I would recommend hiring a car as we did and you can see a bit more of this wonder island. If you do not hire your car before hand, Dimitri, will organise it for you when you arrive.
I found the owner, Dimitri and his wife and daughter, the very best of hosts and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a family hotel as your base.

“ Top Tip: Theologos beach is very close by although it is a pebble beach (which I actually prefer!).
