Sea View Apartments

“ Hotel and staff really nice they opened the restaurant late so that we could have something to eat after our late flight. room cleaned every other day. sea views only from top floor rooms unfortunatly. very quiet pool loads of sunbeds for fewer people so no getting up really early just to get one. international people so your not hereing english voices all day long which i like. hotel is family run and they have a family farm that provides for the restaurant. so hotel great now to the resort. unfortunatly a lot of restaurants have closed down due to a large all inclusive hotel opening but mikes and billys restaurants are really good with really friendly staff. they are about 200 yards from the hotel beach not great go to the other side of the island if thats important to you. if you want a quiet relaxing holiday this is for you.

“ Room was a little dated and cooking facilities weren't great. Everything else as far as we were concerned was fantastic. We had to ask for a kettle to make a cup of tea but apart from that we ate at the restaurant every day for breakfast and dinner. All the meals were freshly prepared and for the breakfasts they used English sausages and bacon. Normally we go self catering so that we can find somewhere where the food is good and then normally eat there for the rest of the holiday. On this occasion we ate on site for every meal, (very unusual for us). The Michalakis family couldn't have made us feel more welcome. It was as if we were family. Michael runs the bar/restaurant, his mother Iro (eero) does all of the cooking and his father Antonio, pool and general maintenance. The studios are quite large and there are only 11 of them (I think) which makes the place very intimate and friendly. The pool was very clean and very large considering the size of the complex and you could always get a sunbed and shade if you needed it.
Other positives included bus stop at top of road (50 yds), ATM 70 yds, supermarket 70 yds although this was very basic. To get a newspaper and better supplies, this was perhaps 0.5 mile about a 10 min walk. Beach about a 5 min walk, although this was pebbly but hardly anyone on it. There was a Taverna with umbrellas and beds another couple of minutes.
We did think the plane noise might be a problem but you get used to them very quickly and because there isn't any road noise whatsoever, we slept ok even on the first night. The advantage of being close to the airport is transfer time. From the airport to Tholos is about 10 mins and costs 13 Euros by taxi.
The towels and bed linen were changed every two days apart from once, we were left for three days and the beds were fairly comfortable, but then if you want 3 or 4 star you have to pay for 3 or 4 star.
Taking everything into consideration, (especially the cost) we rated this as one of our best/most relaxing holidays on the Greek Islands. We can now see why so many other guests return year after year.

“ Top Tip: If you want Pubs, Karaoke and night clubs and a lot of different Restaurants don't go to the Sea View in Tholos. Rhodes.
Try Iros' meat balls called Kef-tair-this, she makes them herself. (One of the ingredients is Ouzo).
