Maistros Village

“ The Maistros apartments were an ideal holiday location with clean and well furnished rooms.Very quiet with a lovely swimming pool which we seemed to have to ourselves most of the time. The rooms had a large balcony with a view. Only drawback was the fact that our room only had a fridge and no cooking facilities not even a kettle which would have been handy. Katerados is an ideal location as it is in the middle of a the island and easy to reach all the places of interest. The breakfast was of the usual Greece fare, bread, cake, cheese and something trying to be ham!I would say that Fira seemed to be very busy and the traffic the same, but it was nice to be near Fira but not actually in the centre. Oia was a beautiful post card village but also busy. Worth the crowds to see the breath taking views. Never saw the sunset there though but it was easier to sit just outside Fira and watch it from there.

“ Top Tip: We used to eat in a little more traditional taverna called 'Stavas' which did very good food at reasonable prices, as the restaurants in Fira were at least twice as much and sometimes not as good. Easy to find as it is opposite the Two little mini markets next to the windmill. Also there was a reasonable bike hire place which rented ATVs (small quad bikes) at 14 Euros a day. We found every thing we needed within a 100 yards of each other. There a fantastic bakery on the juctin of the main rood which I thick was called 'Erosti... something. Just across the road from Zoras coffee shop.
The best beach was at 'Vlycada' on the south side of the Island. Very clean and not that busy. It also had a couple of terverna's.
