I really enjoyed my weeks stay. This basic clean establishment is prettily arranged fairly centrally in Fira town about 6-7 minutes walk from the main town attractions, but not in a noisy situation. The management and staff were helpful and friendly, but although the hotel is fine for older people as well as the young it does mean humping your bags down a little alleywayto get there so a degree of fitness is needed if you have no help!
Would certainly stay there again

“ very welcoming staff, fairly basic but clean rooms, with a quaint plunge pool. Andreas (who seems to be THE man for the front desk) was very helpful with info on busroutes/post boxes etc. Quite a few (steep) steps from the main road, so wouldn't recommend for the infirm or elderly. Only 10 minutes walk from a multiple choice of eating places and bars. Excellent bus service (with Fira being the main depot) gives you an easy option of exploring the Island with the costliest fare being only €2.
“ Top Tip: The sunset on the cliff face of Fira is something to see. Beaches are shingle/stone and kids (and adults!) may require footwear. Some excellent eateries, but don't expect cheap drinks. Average price (in the bars of Fira) of a spirit/mixer is €7.

“ The hotel was OK but a bit tired looking. Our room was in need of a makeover and the bathroon suite needed replacing as the toilet was very dated and kept blocking up. There were a lot of steps to get from ground level up to our room with unsafe, rotten wooden railings that were on the point of collapse. It was also a long, uneven walk from the road to the hotel and was unlit at night. There were several sets of steps along this route which could be dangerous in the dark. The inclusive breakfast left a lot to be desired, we quickly tired of bread and jam every morning and nothing else. It is unlikely we would stay there again or recommend it to friends.

“ It was technically a hostel but with individual rooms available . Luckily I went late season and the weather was still hot. ( dorms for men & women are highly subscribed in the peak Summer months). A very clean and well situated location for getting the bus to anywhere else on Thira. The staff were very pleasant and I was able to seek advice and buy tickets for the Thalassa schooner boat which leaves from the old port ( 15mins away including the cable car ride !) A basic continental breakfast and a very pleasant shared terrace with nice views. This hotel does not overlook the caldera but the other side of Thira.I loved it but the schools had gone back so crowds were few & far between .
“ Top Tip: A few minutes walk to the central bus station and taxi rank, you could go anywhere from there easily.
