“ The hotel was basic, as expected with 2* rating, but a very good base to explore the island and the welcome was fantastic. The hotel owners were extremely friendly and helpful, picking us up and taking us back to the airport etc. The hotel was within a short walk of the main town and a number of good restaurants.

“ Our stay at the Margarita was really nice. My wife and I stayed for 7 nights. We were put in a lovely apartment 1 mins walk from Margarita on our first night as they were booked out. We then moved into Margarita on the second night and were given a nice room with a nice balcony. The owner was very pleasant and very helpful. If we were to find ourselves back in Santorini again we would definately stay once more.
“ Top Tip: To rent scooter I would recommend Santo Moto which is on the left 3 mins walk down the road towards Fira from the margarita. You need to go down some steps when you get to it. The guys there spoke perfect english and immediately offered with no haggling the kind of deal we were trying to get from others with haggling. There is also a lovely restaurant 1 mins walk from Margarita just on the other side of the main road when you get to it in the direction of Fira. Its always busy and has decent prices.
