“
Very basic hotel & quite old fashioned compared to a lot of the sea front hotels, but you get what you pay for. I checked in quite late and was welcomed by the owner - its a small family run hotel. They dont speak much english and the hotel is mainly full of german tourists.
I didn't really book the hotel as a place to stay, just to use as a base and to sleep, so my advice is if you are going for a holiday to sit by the pool etc pay for somewhere else (I recommend the Venus Aphrodite or Kamari Beach) but if you want a base and dont mind old fashioned and basic then this is the place for you.
The room was small with a double bed, desk, wardrobe, mirror, fridge, tv and air con.
Bathroom was very small basically a toilet, shower (with hot water!) and sink
Balcony had 2 chairs and a table, not really any view but a good little sun trap for chilling out on
2 pools both fairly quiet, sun loungers and a bar but I didnt go use this as I was always out and about. Breakfast was not really worth a visit just bread, cheese, ham and coffee so I went out most days.
“
Top Tip:
The location is good, just set 2 roads back from the main strip and right at the end of the strip so you never get lost! The beach is at the end of the road, where you can walk along to all of the restaurant and bars.
The bus stop is nearby as is Kamari Tours where you can book on lots of day trips.

Blue Sea Hotel was clean and comfortable location was great. On the edge of the main resort of Kamari, which meant it didn't suffer noise from the town or passing traffic.
3 minutes walk from the beach and beach front bars.
“
Top Tip:
If you don't want to be pestered by waiters trying to get you into their bar/restaurant, right next to the hotel is the Andreas Taverna, which to my mind is the best restaurant in the town. (Having tried a lot of the others). Menu is extensive.
If you want a quiet drink, (before your evening meal), The Hotel Akis round the corner from the Blue Sea is the place to go.
Take the bus to Fira the capital, the shopping area is fabulous. You can buy anything from a baseball cap, to gold jewelry which could seriously dent your bank balance. Head for the Old Port. You come out on the edge of the caldera, overlooking the volcano. You will see why hotels on the edge of the caldera will cost you a £1000 a week to stay there. The view is breath taking.

“ Typically Greek hotel, exactly what we expected from the reviews. A new cooker hob would be good though. Very clean hotel, clean sheets at towels more regularly that other Greek hotels we have stayed at . Good value for money.
“ Top Tip: Didnt like Taverna Andreas. More expensive than many restaurants and very average. We both very much liked the Navy Bar and the Hook Bar, both did very good meals.

“ The hotel was very fine apart from the fact that the walls were a little thin so we were woken up a lot by the family next door. Also the breakfast was very limited, only bread and butter with a few condiments and nothing else. I would have liked to have been offered some fruit, especially as the hotel did have fruit salad on it's bar menu.
“ Top Tip: We had a great night at 'The No Name SteakHouse', it was a typical greek night with smashing plates and dancing, the staff were great, the food was great and the atmosphere was fantastic. They really made it a fun night.
