“ This is the 2nd visit to the Astro. It is a lovely hotel all the communal areas are clean & tidy, bedrooms are cleaned daily and bedding/towels changed regularly. Plenty of choice at breakfast and a great pool which has the sun all through the day. Will be going back again!

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff that couldn't do enough for us. Owner appears brusk but is very nice when you speak to him.
Travelling with a 9 year old and one year old twins could have been stressful but the staff at the hotel were superb. No problems from the start of our holiday to the end.
Rooms cleaned every day and towels changed. Bedding changed every other day. Lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds. Basic breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, boiled eggs, bread, cheese, ham, cucumber, tomato, feta but nice enough and constantly topped up so there was plenty.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and when we return to Kamari in we will stay at Astro again.

Top Tip:
Restaurants:
Make sure to visit the restaurant called Almeira which is on the beachfront at the opposite side to the mountain. Keep walking away from the mountain right onto the end of the street. Lovely, lovely restaurant, fantastic food, reasonably priced and very friendly staff.
Peros on the road leading away from the beach near the mountain, going towards Ancient Thira. Fantastic staff that were incredibly friendly and spoilt our children rotten. Good food and very reasonable. Lovely people and we are hoping to keep in touch.
Poseidon on the beachfront. Again lovely staff, great food and very reasonable. Kept our children in free ice cream all holiday. Thanks!!!

“ on arriving at the vila astro, i was informed that despite making the booking 5 months previous, i had to go to another hotel as they did not have a room for me. i was then left alone in reception for an hour to wait for somebody to walk me just a few yards down the road to the hotel i had been relocated to. i must stress that at no point did i receive an apology for the appalling way i was treated, nor did i revceive any notification from the agent that this would be happenning prior to arriving at the hotel to check in. the lack of communication and service from the agent and the hotel management i felt was an absolute disgrace.

“ This hotel is excellent value for the money it is well maintained with friendly efficient staff who provide an excellent continental breakfast.Rooms are of a good size with fridge and safe [one euro a day charge]. Nice shady area in the garden and good sized pool and jacuzzi.Excellent location near to beach and many tavernas

Take the volcano boat trip --see the sunset from almost anywhere on the west coast
we went to Oia but suspect it is no better than Fira

Arrived late after delayed flt. only to find request for three single beds(3 ladies) been given 1 double 1 single.Could not change this at all, said it was not their fault but that of Kamari Tours and that most hotels in Greece don't have that facility.Not true as we were with 9 other people in other Hotels and some of them had 3 single beds in.!(Santorini)
The Hotel was charming and the staff were quite pleasant after that.
