Shops, bars and tavernas are only a few minutes walk away, a mere 50 metres. The main town of Zakynthos is just 4 kms away and offers a great opportunity to shop and visit the harbour.The shingle beach is just a few meters away but those preferring sandy beaches will find sandy beaches within 6 kms

“ Overall this hotel was good. Due to the time of year we went it was very quiet with not much going on in the hotel itself but it may be a completely different story during the busier months. The hotel was very clean and close to everything you need. It is also only 5 minutes away from the main town Zakynthos. Generally we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel as it was great for the price. The only complaint that I would have is that the refrigerator in the snack bar makes a loud noise every 5 minutes all day and night which can become quite annoying after a while.
“ Top Tip: There is a greek restraurant across the road from the Merdien Beach called Zorbas, the food is great, massive portions and friendly staff. Also Athina is another fab restaurant, again with great food and very friendly staff. Athina also tend to serve rice and potatoes with their dishes which makes a nice change from chips as all the restaurants seems to serve chips with everything!

“ The hotel was right in the middle of the town, so near to the supermarket, tavernas and bars - really great location. The room was cleaned daily and was spotless. There is very little beach but the sea backs right onto the back of the hotel which is great as you can stay by the pool and have a dip in the sea too (sea was like a bath in Sept!). Lovely snack bar by the pool and lovely security guard who welcomes you back from the bars in the early hours!!

“ As greek accommodation goes, this is as good as you can get. Clean and well maintained with regular towel and bedding changes. Staff are efficient and friendly. 2nd time here for us and will probably go there again. Only downside is the poolside sun loungers - plastic and not good for my old back however the youngsters didn't seem to mind. Good to see they have clamped down on the "night before" sunbed reservation although we may have helped by collecting them !!!
“ Top Tip: Legends for great cheap breakfast and midday snacks and Granada Restaurant for the friendly family atmosphere.
