“ One of the cleanest hotels we have stayed in. Rooms comfortable but there did seem to be a shortage of hot water. There was a good selection of food, but it wasn't always very hot although there was a microwave which solved this problem for us. The snacks from the pool bar were excellent at lunchtime and the bar service very good, never a long wait even when they were busy - very efficient staff. A very pleasant stay.
“ Top Tip: The Kalimera supermarket down the road 200 yards right out of the hotel is terrific. 2 tables set up outside and help your self to a cold glass from the freezer. a beer from the fridge and make use of the bottle opener provided, very traditional place and supermarket prices.

“ This is a very lovely hotel. Rooms are very adequate and very clean. Poolside area is great with a bar for snacks and drinks. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We were worried about going 'all inclusive' but we needn't have. The food was exceptional, maybe a lack of traditional dishes but all the same, a nice variety of food. Drink as much as you like of the local stuff. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

“ This hotel was spotlessly clean, the food was excellent although we did have one evening meal where the choice was not to our taste , and the staff were great. The downside was the entertainment on an evening. It starts at 9.00 and finishes at 11.00. There is bingo every night for the first 45 minutes followed by entertainment by an animation team. The staff on the team were really nice but not the entertainment. However the greek night was good, where some dancers came in and one night they had a singer on called Kelly who was brilliant. We had a wonderful week as the weather apart from one day was perfect and the pool area was brilliant.

Bitzaro Grand fantastic hotel--excellent rooms large by most hotel standards, rooms cleaned daily/clean towels everyday, linen changed. Surroundings stunning, plum, pomegranite, lemon, lime trees scattered around and beautiful shrubs and flowers adorn the hotel. Pool(s) clean plenty of sunbeds and grounds to kick back relax and soak up the sun. Could not fault the AI food, eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, toast cereals, pastries for breakfast, coffee, tea, juices and lots more. Lunch menu good hot food, evening menu good hot food, always varied menu, red and white wine on tap including AI alchohol, soft drinks, tea coffee--you can even help yourself to beer at the lobby bar. Food buffet style and always plenty of choice. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant staff friendly and work really hard. Animation team well what can I say "wobble quack":) they work hard all day and evening and even though some of the daytime/evening games/entertainment are a bit cheesy "flip flop flicking" and "human horse racing" night, it kept everyone amused and yes they play 2 games of bingo every evening but with a full house prize of 270euros who could resist the "wobble quacks" and "legs of a lady" so funny.
Beach about a 5 minute walk away but well worth it gentle slop with hardly a ripple in the beautiful warm sea and you can see where the logger head turtles have nested and hatched. Some aeroplane noise as hotel/beach not far from airport but hey as the days go on you do not take any notice.

Top Tip:
Go to Argassi and eat at Zorba's restaurant--wow food excellent 6 fantastic mains, wine flowing throughout meal, beers, soft drinks change from 70euros.
Hire a car (but not from Hermes car rental in Kalamaki manager so rude) and visit the stunning beaches and surrounding towns.
Visit Zante town, lovely shops, places to eat and plenty of history.
Would recommend hiring a car as you get to see the beautiful island/towns/beaches of Zante (Zakinthos) but DO NOT hire from Hermes rentals on the Kalamaki strip had a bad experience with the manager when our hire car broke down he gave Greek people a bad name so rude. All in all would highly recommend Bitzaro Grande--you will find lots of guest at the hotel go back year after year so to me this hotel doesn't even have to sell itself worth ever single penny of anyone's hard earned cash. Book with Travel Republic so much cheaper than Thompson and other large travel companies.

“ this was our third visit here in four years so they must be doing something right.ok, check-in is 14.00 hours so if you have an early flight like ours you may have to wait a while for your room, we arrived at 12.30 midday but our room was ready ,check out is 12.00 hrs again midday.the rooms are clean but not the biggest but more than enough for a couple. there is a small tv in the room with limited channels but there is no coffee or tea making facilities, there is also a small fridge. the air conditioning has set times for when it on these are 22.00 hrs -07.00 hrs , 14.00hrs -18.00 hrs, it is off the rest of the time but i do believe you can pay a small fee to have it on all the time. meals in the restaurant are all self serve this includes all drinks , wine ,beer , soft drinks , tea and coffee, the tea is not the best so you may wish to take your own teabags if like me you are a big tea drinker, breakfast is the usual ,bacon eggs sausages etc also cereals, yogouts cold meats and cheeses, fruit etc there is also a small toaster and various breads and rolls , lunch is a variation, hot food, meat and fish dishes and also salads again all self serve , though you can have lunch at the pool bar if you like where there is a small selection such as chips , pasta etc, evening meal is a variation similar to lunch with a little more choice were there is a kids corner with burgers pasta chips fish fingers etc, the pool bar area serves snacks from 10.00hrs to 18.00hrs these include again chips with burgers ,salads , toasties etc there is also ice-cream on tap all day.the main thing i believe about this hotel is how friendly the staff are it is family run and you can tell . one evening i lost my wallet at the pool bar ,the next day it was all panic how lucky was i when on asking at reception it was there waiting for me with all monies and cards etc still inside a cleaner had found that very morning.the pool area is spotless with a young girl named emma cleaning up around the tables. games are arranged through out the day by the very hard working thomas and his team who dont take long to remember your name , the evening is made up of various theme nights with some acts coming from outside the hotel but every night begins with bingo for about 40 mins. the hotel during our stay was mainly made up of brits about 70% with rest being dutch.on talking to a barman in a nearby bar who asked where we where staying enformed us it was the best all - inclusive on the island he was a native greek who had actually worked there when it first opened 10 years ago. there is one main road in kalimaki and thats it and it is usually all closed by 12.30 am there is your usual sports bars, restaurants and shops, if you want the nihgt life then it is about 8 euros in a taxi to laganas. there is only one taxi firm on the island and all fees are set. a private tranfer to the hotel through travel republic was 65 pounds each way , 130 pounds,do your self a favour just walk out the airport straight to the taxi rank ,it is 15 euros to any hotel in kalimaki 30 euros both ways about 27 pounds all together now thats a saving thats about all we hope to book for next year but as another holidaymaker informed me the hotel was already half booked . finally many thanks to del, steve ,babs and amy a group of tee-siders ( smogies) who helped make this our most enjoyable stay yet.
