Sunflower Studios Apartments

“ Sunflower was a great hotel, about 4 minutes walk from the main strip but it was all very tranquil around the hotel, the staff were very friendly and after a little confusion with the room (they put us in a twin when we had booked a double) they moved us around and we were very happy. the pool was lovely and the bar and pool area were very pleasant and tidy. the shower was the best (most powerful and reliably warm) i have very had in Greece (islands or mainland) and the kitchen, although small managed a meal for 5 one evening which was lovely.

the hotel although far enough away from the main strip in the day to remain peaceful did have a few quads and scooters buzzing up the road in the wee small hours and you can hear the noise from the bars (it sounds a little like a festival) through the night but it certainly didn't stop me from sleeping well. Though light sleepers and families might like this less.

i would say the hotel is suitable for all but the resort is definately an 18-30 paradise with not much in the way of traditional food but there are a two good eateries that i could recommend, Corali on the beach, at the end of the strip turn right, this was a great family restaurant that serves very nice food and the staff are lovely. Also the Gyros place opposite the itailian on the same road as the Sunflower hotel closer to the strip. the owner is very accomodating and loved introducing us to new and traditional food, helping us with our Greek and being generally very nice.

Last word on the hotel is that i thought it looked much nicer that the photos, which is always a nice surprise.

“ Top Tip: Corali Restaurant was very good with traditional food and freindly service.
Boat hire looked great at 90 eruos a day but we ran out of time. If you can't cope with clubbing every night for your holiday then definately hire a quad or a car to explore the island (the quads are a little underpowered so maybe stick to the south of the island) don't miss Zakynthos Town and the south east penninsula.

“ Top Tip: At night I would recommend gettin a taxi up and down to the main strip as their is a lack of street lights

“ These apartments were lovely - they were kept beautifully clean and the pool was great. They are close enough to the beach and nightlife but far enough away that they were relatively peaceful. Perfect for family with older teenagers who want to sample the night life and parents who want a more peaceful place to stay.

“ Top Tip: The Akropolis restaurant across the road was very good, and a couple of restaurants on the beach - particularly Horizon.

“ Sunflower apartments were great! Friendly atmosphere, really nice, clean pool and a great cafe and bar there too. About a 5 minute walk to the strip and a 2 minute walk to a small food store which was perfect as we were on a self catering holiday. It didnt matter to us, but the shower was hand held. The owners were amazing- such nice people!! Would deffo go back to Sunflower!!! :D
