“ The Dream Apartments, Lose yourself in the peace and quiet of the Zakynthian country side with the welcoming Antonopoulos Family in first-rate accommodation surrounded by spotless gardens and pool, with only a short walk to the beach (300m with restaurants) and nearby Tsilvis (1.5miles) for more restaurants and nightlife

After off loading the children onto the grandparents, my partner and I retreated to the sunny shores of Zante for a well earned last of the sun week at The Dream.
After landing early evening in the first rain in 4 months and the taxi driver not knowing where the place was, even after showing him the address, we began to have doubts, but upon arrival at The Dream the sun had come out and any fears faded as Costas, Christos and Ella greeted us with open arms like long lost family, took ours cases and showed us to our room. Shocked by the personal touch and high standard of the room we quickly made our way to the bar to get over it, but even there the hospitality continued with a courtesy drink and other guests sharing the local knowledge through idle chit chat.(Thanks Janet and Dave)

The Dream Greek night is a definite must, not only do they get you up dancing around the bar and pool , but out on the road too, at the detriment of any road users who have to wait until the song has finished.

In summary we had a great time at The Dream apartments and would not hesitate to recommend it. We will be booking up for next year. Big thank you to the Antonopoulos Family

“ Top Tip: try to book a upper room at the back for great views over to Kefalonia

The Ambula beach and Arkyiksomething fish restaurant’s which are a short walk away near the beach (Nikos and Costas will tell you the way) are highly recommended, with an excellent meal for 2 and a litre of house wine setting you back around 30euros, Although the family will take you (and bring you back) to a restaurant in the hills overlooking the bright night lights of Tsilvis which we would also recommend for a night out. What we would not recommend is Piero’s Greek and Mexican restaurant in Tsilvis. The chilli con carne looked and tasted like it was out of a tin and the chicken fajitas came burnt.


We booked a car for the week after e-mailing Nikos beforehand (6 days 195Euros) and used it to take us back to the airport (pick up a driver in Tsilvis) this was great as we had a late flight back and it let us get the most out of the last day. That said navigating around the island is somewhat of an art (even with a map) and getting lost is all part of the exploration.
We would recommend a car even for a few days to see some of the great sights around Zante (Nikos will mark them on the map for you). We also took in one of the boat trips to the famous Shipwreck cove with a local company Nefis which stated to be the first boat at the cove, and true to their word the 2 speed boats containing around 20 people were first there. (ideal for the photo’s as 30mins later it was packed) they then took us back to the blues caves for swim off the boats before moving on to Xigia natural sulphur sea spa (or smelly beach as we called it) for a dip in the healing water. This was a good day out and cost 30euro’s each.

“ This is my second year staying at Onero near Tsivili and I can't recommend it highly enough. It has good size apartments providing all the basics you need, set within a beautiful garden-like complex. The family that run it are just lovely, so welcoming and helpful you feel like you are staying with the family rather than renting an apartment.

“ Rooms were perfectly adequate and very clean. Nice pool. Snacks in the complex were simple but excellent Staff/family ran the complex efficiently and effectively in a friendly manner. Very good value for money.

“ Top Tip: there are a few restaraunts within walking distance,the beach is also in walking distance,where you can hire sunbeds all day at the ambula beach for 6 euros.its a fabulous place to do just nothing.there is a beach bar there and the prices are reasonable.there is a fabulous restaraunt at a top of a hill,but the owners of the dream will take you there and the restaraunt owners will bring you back when your ready.
