Property Summary
Location
Many of our rooms were completely renovated in the spring of 2011, and many now feature descriptions of some of the natural wonders that make Iceland so unique: water, geothermal energy, moss, lava, and glaciers. These rooms feature extra information and artwork inspired by this nature.
Sporting a fresh and spacious look, the in-house restaurant "SATT" is located on the first floor. SATT offers a variety of dishes made with fresh and organic ingredients, local flavours and warm, thoughtful service. The dining room is warm and inviting, with wood furniture that has been designed and produced in Iceland.
A low rise purpose-built building, the hotel is a mixture of grey, yellow and white painted brickwork.
The property is a good quality hotel and within easy reach of the sights of Reykjavik. It is also the first stop for the airport bus "Flybus" and well-located for those wishing to explore other areas outside Reykjavik.

“ we were in a standard room which I would have rated quite small even for a 3* hotel, particularly the shower room. Staff were attentive and helpful, rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard and breakfast buffet was very varied in choice. The hotel looks to have been refurbished fairly recently and probably is only 3 plus star except that it has an indoor pool (which we did not use). However, apart from meals, the accomodation was very inexpensive, the shuttle bus quite useful as it is a fair walk into the centre. Taxi fares for return were reasonable and taxis are plentiful. This is an excellent hotel if you are looking to book excursions at reception and pick up and drop off at the front door.
“ Top Tip: try the set menu, Tour of Iceland, at The Fish Company, under the bridge in the centre. Fabulous food served in style with excellent friendly and informative service. Bit pricey (but every meal we had was pricey) but great value for money and a really nice experience. If venturing out, try the town of Borganese, a bit further north and visit the 'Settlement Age exhibition. Blue Lagoon is really cheesy but still a must.

“ Hotel was an excellent price but a little dilapidated, the photo's taken of it were clearly taken a couple of years ago and the rooms were very travel lodge like - Not really 4 star. No real double beds just two singles pushed together. Staff were very helpful and organised and fridge in room was very useful.
“ Top Tip: Use Netbus to book your excursions rather than Reykjavik excursions the provide much cheaper and better tours and airport transfers.

“ As budget hotels go, this one is a diamond. Clean, tidy and with constant free tea and coffee and a surprisingly wide continental breakfast selection, one couldn't ask for more. The staff are charmingly informal yet attentive and efficient. We booked what we thought was a room for 3 people and found ourselves allocated a separate 4-bedroom house! A marvellous find!

“ The hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were helpful. The rooms were comfortable but there were no tea/coffee making facilities as advertised and the dining room was closed in the winter months for everything except breakfast. Also the hotel was approximately one hours walk from the city centre which was not the impression I got from the description.
